Everyone has their limits and that's key. I trust that Jared is closely monitoring his minutes. I just don't want Nathan getting tired and god forbid injure himself. I still believe that Mikko injured himself earlier this year due in part because he wasn't conditioned. Its rare to see a guy get injured from simply skating lol.
Lol, that’s funny. I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone as good as Rants is have the problems staying on his feet like he does...... except for maybe Landeskog, ha. It’s funny to have them on the same team.

BTW I am just about done with Ian Cole. Last night's goal against was ONCE AGAIN because a puck pinged off of him and right to Mantha. I get that he's mainly the recipient of bad luck but I am sick and tired of watching pucks deflect off him and past the goalie or to another opposition player. He needs to change his positioning, something, ANYTHING.

Sorry, I get this is a tad irrational, but I'm just completely frustrated with him right now. I just don't really like anything about his game at present.

I've been ok with him lately, but yeah there has been some painful comedy. I'm just happy hes taking less stupid penalties.

That's true, I just really hate him on that right side. I'm not sure why Bednar went away from that G-Z pairing, I thought they were effective. I don't know if the Cole-EJ pairing was a disaster possession-wise, but Z with G was unstoppable.

I've stopped fretting over the pairings. I've noticed Bedsy just changes it up based on who is playing well. Hes been late on the changes sometimes, but I think hes recognized that he can only use Z, Cole, and EJ up the lineup in spirts.

The D is flawed when you have three guys like that. It just seems like now there is somewhat of a rotation and there really is no other way to handle it.

Yeah, you're completely right.

I suppose I shouldn't complain...I mean they have been the best defensive team in hockey over this last stretch. I just needed to get that out of my system.

The better way to view this is that they're playing THIS WELL defensively with three very flawed defensemen, a 29-year-old rookie as the starter, and a new #3 guy who's posting a Sv% of .886. Now imagine what they'll be like when they get both goalies back and healthy AND Byram and Timmins are ready.

Yeah, the defense hasn't been losing us games lately so I'll take it.

I just hope all that love the skills coach has gotten about getting guys to come back firing holds up. It will either be glorious, or an unmitigated disaster. Their ability to let off the gas when they get healthy is noticeable.

I'm betting the last couple games are rough if they do get close to fully healthy.

I'm also a little conflicted on this defensively tilted hockey. We've needed it to win, but this team is about as much fun as a wet noodle in a porno lately.

I didn't see unlucky, I seen a lack of power and sharp focus.

The knife is dull right now. Can't really blame Bednar too much for leaning on him, but this year has been nuts. We've had like 10 games that our top line has been fully healthy, and the 2C has been out. Yet we're still fighting for the Division. I just hope it does not f*** us in the playoffs.
Guy hit a crossbar. I would say that's unlucky lol.

I get more irritated with Landeskog fanning on shots than him constantly falling. It is strange how often Mikko and Landy fall.

My biggest issue with Cole isn’t really pucks bouncing off of him, it sucks but it happens. My issue is the constant stream of brain dead defending that happens and just not trying at times. Like the Nashville game, a Pred makes a move and Cole just stands there, letting the guy get a clean breakaway on Frankie. That play in particular bothered me.

Im no Cole fan but I have to admit he hasn't had too many of those brain farts this season. The play you are talking about did piss me off though haha.

MacKinnon played 23 minutes once again tonight.

We are burning him out. Period.
Which is actually quite amazing because I barely noticed him for most of the night. He really does need some reinforcements and maybe a maintenance game or two once the guys start coming back. Of course, I doubt MacK would take a maintenance night off even if given the chance. He wants to play and will continue to go until he wins the cup, loses a series in the playoffs or simply breaks...just seems like that kinda guy. He is definitely playing on fumes and sheer will-power right now. It can't be easy.
