In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
North or south, east or west, he really never knew.

Down the St. Lawrence River, to the large lake,
To his crew, Columbus admitted he was a fake.

After the long journey to Lake Erie,
our fake hero was getting weary.

He found a nice place for a nap on the shore,
the crew said "**** this fake! No more!"

They left him dreaming in the sun,
with nothing to eat, not even a hotdog bun.

He awoke alone but did not care,
for a new world he found, his legend would bear.

Except he really wasnt alone here,
for pointing at him were many a spear.

Wrapped in a bluejacket, down the river Scioto,
taken to a place he could not imagine he would go.

The middle of nowhere, a city grew before him,
what began as a trip with smiles turned grim.

In the city center, a surprise awaited,
the speaker rose his hand, the hubbub abated.

"This city is yours great traveler, to make,
it shall be named after you, to honor your mistake.

    The sports shall be pathetic
    appetite for them apathetic.

    BlueJackets shall be the name,
Because you wore that when you came."

    "WHY HERE!?!" Columbus screamed
"Is this not what you dreamed?

    To be remembered for eternity?"
"That of course is a certainty,

but this has not gone to plan."
"I'm sorry to hear that, pale man,

your only way out is to die, I'm sure of it."

"Here though? This awful place? ****."

    -Peter DeBoer

And that players, is how Columbus was founded. Now go out there and kick their ass.

Too much free time and excitement for this game. Don't mean to take over the GDT/insult OP.

Lets see what they are made of. Can we put together 2 straight 60 minute efforts or what?? Let's go New Jersey!

  6. So if we win our 2nd game of the season, is Larsson going to get the shaft one more time?

I can understand that DeBoer won't change a winning formula but everyone knows that #28 will come back down to earth and play like a ass. Meaning that someone will giving our coach a poor performance and I'm just curious to see if Larsson will continue to get "abused" by our head coach.

Me & Classic will be there - up close to watch Cory in all his glory.

    I hope it's a good drive home.

I don't care what anybody says there are tons of things to be encouraged about this team...They have played well for parts of almost every game with exception of maybe Winnipeg, they have 9 different goal scorers through 8 games and they still haven't fully gelled.

Get out of this month at or around .500 and we'll be in great shape.

I feel a roll coming on in November.

Noticed today that Zids is leading the team in points? Yeah, let's get rid of him...

haha - I wish. Probably gonna be crappy arena nachos with the sprint there after work.

  12. I do like our depth up front but I'll continue to say the same thing... if we don't upgrade our current blueline, we aren't going anywhere.

The simple fact of switching our 3rd pair with a Gélinas-Fayne duo would make all the difference in the world. This team needs mobility, creativity, someone with a hard shot from the point and that's the last thing we're getting out of #28 and Harrold. We don't have the horses to start skating everywhere in the offensive zone so we have to be patient and move the puck around to open some lanes. If we can't feed the points in fear they'll turn it over the second the puck hits their blade, we're basically playing with a man down.

    The problem is this team can't really afford much "on the job learning" from the defense right now. You have to go with experience until this team gells. We're only 8 games in and need stabilization more than anything right now.;

Lol I'd honestly drive to CBus just for a burger there....

    Enjoy the game tonight!

  18. Experience doesn't help you if don't have the skills to do your job. I'll take a rookie who won't cause as many turnovers over a veteran who'll **** up more often then not.

If the NHL isn't a "on the job learning experience" for Larsson, then send his ass down so he can learn a thing or two and stay sharp. ****ing with his head and having him watch from the press box isn't doing him any good now or in the longhaul.

That's on Lou IMO. He needs to remove certain pieces of the puzzle in order for DeBoer to have more valid options. If Lou would banish #28, maybe Pete would actually play the better player (Fayne or Larsson) game after game... and the same can be said with Harrold as well.

How long did we wait last time to get seated? Hour or so? Either way, worth it...Columbus is a great place to watch a game. Fans are respectful and they have a nice arena.
