I'm watching the Canucks play against the Knights right now and Markstrom is playing, so we'll probably see Nilsson.

In that case, you can pretend my bingo game says "Nilsson makes 30 saves" instead.

Did they leave or are they partying tonight? The benefit of being 40 minutes away from Vegas.

Looks like they left. Canucks have two numbers, ACA7037 and ACA7038. ACA7038 landed in Phoenix at 12:04AM.

He's been our best faceoff man and one of our best offensive players. His defense has improved a lot and will improve more with opportunity and minutes. How about we also work to develop his offense further instead of this BS philosophy of waiting for his defense to improve before he gets to play with more skilled wingers. I freaking hate when I hear that crap. News Flash: We aren't winning the cup this year. Great time to let Strome blossom into an offensive force while the coaches "coach" him up defensively. There are lots of players that score a lot of points in the league but are marginal defensively. If Strome doesn't turn into a point producer, it doesn't matter how much his defense improves. There's nothing about his skills, personality or play on the ice that suggests he'll ever be a good bottom six defensive specialist.

I'm not a season ticket holder any more but I'll be there tomorrow. Maybe I can get a "Free Strome" chant going.
I agree, but Strome has to learn to be consistent, and I think he will. If you watch his last three games he was invisible some of the times, and I think his last game he was something like 25% FOW's. The first three or four games you noticed him every shift which is encouraging. Same goes for Perlini and Fischer.

Canucks are really banged up but we can't be stupid here and not take this game seriously.

I wouldn't mind resting Raanta one more either. He's going to need to play a lot of games this year, but the good news is Kuemper is playing well and historically for us he has done well vs. Vancouver.

All right Yotes! This is a game where they have a good opportunity to pounce on the Canucks. Second half of a back to back and not the strongest team on paper. BUT I hope the Yotes don't take them lightly and use this chance to blow the lid off of the Arena... the home fans have waited a while for a goal and especially a win at home. If they bring a great effort, this could be a fun game. I'll be there again!

His D has improved enough to keep him out of the AHL anyway for now, give you that. If Strome was a little better on D, he wouldn't be on the 4th line with his skills. Keep in mind, Tocc might be protecting him and limiting his minutes 5 on 5 so he doesn't get exposed or have to play against the other teams top lines.

It is kind of funny how regardless of the coach, the same things still happen. It's pretty simple - some players can be brought up right away, step into a lineup, and not skip a beat, a la Keller. Some need some time to refine their game and because of this, they look like they are being misused, but sometimes it is about gaining little steps along the way, as opposed to exposing them to constant failure while learning b/c they are being asked to do so in a role that they can't quite handle yet (i.e. top line usage)

The GDT reminded me of my attempt to make the old coach's press conferences more enjoyable:

If you replace "lots of try" with "sticky," there really is no difference between the coaches news conference and the words of wisdom. Most of these are more related to the talent level (or lack thereof) between what was there with Tip and what we have now with Tocc.

Anyways. Go Yotes. Must capitalize on a tired team. 4-2 win. 2 goals for Galchenyuk, and 1 for Goligoski. Empty netter for Grabner. Irony not withstanding that all scorers start with the letter G, cause we needed Gs so many games ago.

Hey! Canucks fan here, Bae, Tanev and Edler got injured last game so they are actually likely not playing as Canucks called up 2 players.

Lol. Boeser is probably coming back, Coach doesnt sound confident Petey is coming back this game.

I like your bingo idea, I should do it for the Canucks but with injuries to each player :-(
Good luck tonight!

Appreciate the info.

We generally resent the Canucks mostly because of the Canadian market vs. small American market thing, but I personally wish you well. I mean, at the end of the day, at least you're not the Kings. :P

Edit: you're also at least not the Oilers. f*** the Oilers. f*** them to hell and back, and three times over. I'm sure you can at least get on board with us for this.

Lol, I feel you. I also hate the Oilers but they gave our twins a respectable send-off last season so im laying off of them for now. I can def relate with the same hatred for the leafs though.

If we are gonna lose, I genuinely don't mind losing to you guys. Always had respect for Arizona (/Phoenix). How's Strome looking? :)

Strome has looked pretty good despite often being given bookends for 5v5 linemates. On the other hand, we've been giving him a lot of PP time. Many people might disagree with me but I think we're trying to develop him the right way. 5v5 linemates is one thing but he's held his own. However, he obviously needs some more strength and leverage because it's pretty easy to push him off the puck or win board battles against him. I like what I see, but I recognize that he has lots of room for improvement. The areas in which he needs to be taught and trained are able to be taught and trained. The areas you can't teach or train are things that are already there.

Regarding the Leafs, I won't try to speak for anyone else, but I don't mind them right now only because Auston Matthews plays for them. If he ever goes to another team (hopefully to us! haha), the Leafs can f*** right back off.

Side note, the Sedins' final home game last season was against us. That marked the second time last season I felt honored to be a fan of the losing team in a memorable NHL game. You walk out of it recognizing that hockey was the real winner, teams be damned. (the first one was the Vegas home opener shortly after the Mandalay Bay shooting. I spent most of the night crying and not really being even remotely interested in hockey)

If he converted half of his glorious chances he'd have at least 4 goals at this point. He's the most snake-bit of anybody on the roster, but I still think he could end up with 25+ goals this year since he seems to get at least one grade A chance every game.

Yeah, if he had converted half his chances, he would have made 15 mill a year.

I am sure the team knew this when he was signed.

The day he retires, this is IMHO what he will say: "Man, if just the fans had understood if I had converted half of my glorius chances- as they complained about I didn't everywhere I played- my contracts would have been on league max.".
