Overview
[fieldset=Extra Information]
Brendan Savage: hHenrik Zetterberg, special teams help give Detroit Red Wings first winning streak of season
DETROIT – Adrenaline carried Henrik Zetterberg one step further than the St. Louis Blues Friday night.

The result was the Detroit Red Wings biggest victory of the young season.

Zetterberg and the Blues were both gassed at the end of the third period, Zetterberg because he was still getting over a flu bug that caused him to miss practice Thursday and the Blues because they played that night.

But when push came to shove – literally – it was Zetterberg who won the battle to the puck that sealed a 5-3 victory over the Blues at Joe Louis Arena.

Zetterberg scored into an empty net while short-handed with 12.6 seconds left after being knocked the ice by St. Louis' T.J. Oshie, completing his fifth career hat trick while helping snap the Blues' four-game winning streak.

A win tonight, and we are back in the hunt for the Central (1 point back of St. Louis, 3 back of Chicago). Great work ProPain.

The BJ's have better PP and PK numbers than the Wings. :help:

Must win.

Fortunately we have better win number. :D Gotta get up on them early coming off the game last night. Need to get after it right from the puck drop like we did last night.

lets not forget we played the blues and the hawks on the back part of their back to back nights. this is a bit missleading.
i dont think we are in range of the central title.

but i do think we beat the blue jackets today. even after playing the night before. the blue jackets are even worse then last season.
they were a much better team with carter and nash then with their traded pieces now.

Is Howard starting tonight? He's played every game this year, don't want him getting burned out with the grueling schedule.

A win is a win. A win is 2 points. I don't give 2 rats behinds how they won it. They beat a good team. I'm getting fed up with this BS. At this point, the Wings could win the Stanley Cup, and you all will find ways to rationalize how it wasn't an accomplishment.

Did you watch the Blues-Jackets game on Thursday? St. Louis only played 20 minutes, if that. I don't think they we're that tired last night. It looked to me like they never once lost their legs.
Nevertheless it wasn't a great win but a win is a win.
