I hope you’re ok with me starting this GDT off, @The Note

Feel free to burn this down or merge it into @The Note ’s GDT tomorrow. I was feeling inspired to use this parody with my HF Blues friends tonight.

We‘re gonna fight 'em all
A seven point deficit couldn't hold us back
Five wins we rip ’em off
Taking our Central f***ing playoff spot back

And we gotta play hard tonight
No, we can’t forget
Teams coming from behind
Only ten games left

And the message coming from us fans
Says, "Boys bring it home!”

Don't wanna hear about it
Every single trolls got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it
Other than 2019, so many years of Hell

And if we catch you coming back our way
we’re gonna serve Fists to you
And that ain't what you want to hear
But that's what we’ll do
And the feeling coming from our bones
Says, "Blues bring it home!”

This stop Bruinville,
A great team with an amazing core
Our Boys going to give it all
Make the sweat drip out of every pore

And they’ll be skating, they’ll be passing, they’ll be shooting
Rightly trying to score
All the Boys are gonna bleed for us
Cuz, there‘s no doubt anymore

And we cheer for them on the road
Boys bring it on home!

.
.

Buchnevich - Thomas - Tarasenko
Barbashev - Schenn - Toropchenko

I think Krug is probably not fully ready yet but it’s his birthday and his return to Boston so I’m betting he’ll play.
i hope not as he could reinjure himself if that is the case. getting him 100% for the playoff run is the priority.

Two of my good friends were getting married when we faced Boston in October 2019, so tonight will be the first time I’ll be able to watch us play them since we won the Cup. I’ll probably get a little emotional seeing them on that Boston Garden ice tonight. Can’t wait and I hope we beat ‘em.

Assuming Krug is fully healthy I'm interested to see what the defensive pairings will be. I'd like to see Krug back with Faulk and Leddy slide down to the third pair.

Leddy with Parayko and Scandella to the 3rd pairing, is what I would think

Still don't love either with Parayko, but he and Scandella have been good together recently. I definitely prefer Leddy as Bortuzzo's partner though. He and Scandella have an xG share of 36.9% together. I also think Leddy's attempts to carry the puck through the neutral zone will have a little more success and a little less risk against lesser competition.

Call me crazy here but you gotta go with Binner tonight.
I will understand if Berube does that, but you definitely don't have too. I certainly wouldn't. Binner has played 1 strong game in a month and Husso is on fire again after a brief slump in early/mid March. Husso is your game 1 playoff starter until he proves otherwise. He has sustained top-starter-caliber play for too long to look for an opportunity to give the net back to Binner.

If this was 2 months ago, I'd be all for letting Binner try to re-find the 2019 mojo in Boston after a strong home outing. But we are too close to playoffs and we're in a legitimate battle for home ice against our 1st round opponent. Games right now need to be about maximizing points earned and keeping the top half of the roster rolling. Playing your starter like the starter is a big part of both those goals.

Husso is 6-0-1 in his last 7 games played with a .932 over that stretch. The lone OT loss is from a game he entered trailing 4-1. He shouldn't be playing in back-to-backs and there is merit to resting him an additional game or two if Binner is looking solid. A road game against a top 10 opponent isn't the time to sit him down.

Again, I'll understand if Berube trusts a hunch and goes with Binner. I won't like it, but Berube has earned the benefit of the doubt from me with his lineup decisions. But it is absolutely not the normal/expected choice.

Scandella has been playing better lately, so I guess it's not the end of the world lol
