Yeah Wilson is overpaid but he has 20 points and 10 goals, on a healthy season he could've hit 15 goals and 30 Points. That really isnt bae production for a bottom 6 forward, and Wilson is actually pretty strong on the forecheck and in the corners.
At ~2.5M he'd be a nice player to have.
Aaaaaaand there's the catch. He's only hit the 82-game mark or even approached it exactly three times in his ten-year NHL career. His first full season in the NHL (82), 2013-14 (81), and his best season to date in 2014-15 (77) where he managed 20-22-42. Even in the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season he only suited up for 25 games.
So let's stop with this "if he were healthy" stuff, since there's quite a bit of evidence that he's not able to do so, and he'll be hitting 30 next year. Any team signing this guy should know they should be fortunate if they get 65-70 games out of him.
The good news is he has officially passed or will pass his total games from last season (56).
