No. There's a reason you don't see many forwards on the PK go too hard on the forecheck--if they use up all their gas (which Mitchell clearly did) then getting off the ice for the change once there's a break the other way leaves the rest of the team even more shorthanded, which is exactly what happened.

I really love Mitchell's grit and heart, but he didn't make the smart play there.

It's a well known fact that Mitchell has no brain, so its not surprising.

Pokecheque

I’ve been told it’s spelled “Pokecheck”

I like Johnny Malkin but right there is why he should stay a 4th line fringe guy. Long term, I hope Malone finally steps into that role. Mitchell is someone you shouldn't keep long-term.

Too bad we don't have McClement anymore. That guy was a fantastic defensive/PK specialist. AND a smart player.

Lapierre got 5 games.

I'm guessing McLeod gets 5 too.
Lapierre has a history, McLeod doesn't, and Boyle didn't put himself in nearly as vulnerable a position at the last second as Kronwall, if we're basing it of Lapierre, McLeod deserves 2, maybe 3

granted McLeod hit a red wing...so you're probably right
