In Mexico. Have prickly heat. (you probably can't relate under present conditions.) Anyhow, 2 more days then home, and I may get to watch part of the game tonight in town. Would the Canucks stop winning games that give them a mathematical but unrealistic chance of making the playoffs?

All hail aliens.

Well if we beat the Leafs, surely we beat Edmonton right?
Not so fast....Canucks have been awful on the road for the last month....another game where the Canucks could be snowed under in the first 10 minutes.....wondering how much energy they'll have on a back-to-back, after an OT.

But still predicting another tight one....OT again. As long as Pettersson gets off the schneid, I'm happy.

Leafs honestly didn't have near as much on the line as the Canucks in terms of pride or value to the game last night. They let that game slip away just as much as the Canucks found a way to come back.

Made me think of vintage early 2010s Canucks, letting games against lesser teams slip by.

Oilers are fighting for a playoff spot (that isn't really there) and jobs. Lots of pride on the line. These two teams are far too comparable right now in many optics to say which way it goes for certain.

If that were to happen, you’d think that changes to the system would be called for. That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Still so mad that they finally make changes to the lottery because of Edmonton and all it does is f*** us out of getting high picks when we were desperate for them (Pettersson is some cosmic consolation) and now Edmonton is right back in there with good chances again because they're trash and the system rewards that

What’s the answer? Have the team with most points and missing the playoffs pick first and work down from there or would that lead teams to ease off rather than make the playoffs in order to get first pick, especially if a generational type of player was on the line? It might discourage racing to the bottom.

The answer was never having a lottery in the first place. Edmonton would have less first overall picks and no McDavid if we just did it NFL style with the reverse standings order.
