Hm, because maybe you'd notice that 3/5 of the Penguins 2nd-ranked powerplay from the pre-Phil years are the same players today. And that the outcome post-his arrival hasn't actually been additive at all? Cue the cups pics.

That must be why the Pens were 10th the year before Kessel got here, but have been top 5 for the last 3 years.
