Yeah, it's the same effect as with Hall. They both never win anything. Wait...

Even if the defense has fallen back a bit, the offense went straight off a cliff and there's less than zero room for defensive errors now plus they have to defend more.

You can see why players like Stepan and Kessel love him. They can drop a deuce on the ice and hang their goalie out to try. Tocc will be there to cover for them postgame.

Don't keep up with them, just threw out some random names I remember being thrown around in the past and considered the rumor of Vancouver wanting Barrie as being more possible by adding OEL and Hjalmersson. Looking, Cece is also on ltir.

I'm generally getting less mad with the players because it's so clear where the struggles and inconsistencies come from, outside of a few fat/lazy guys. How can you get outshot 3:1 and not even try new lines?

There's a lot of "I don't knows" in that presser for a guy paid to know every detail of his squad. "Housley tells them to..." who the f*** cares? You're paid to get results and to get the players to listen. If they aren't listening to you then why are you being kept around?

Kessel needs to be sat for 63 games to pay the team back for the 63 games he hasn't shown up for.

I don't understand how he isn't fired. "I don't know" is the worst possible answer for a guy paid to have a plan and execute it.
"How do you fix this? What's the plan?"
    " I don't know. "

You'd be fired yesterday. At least bullshit me. "We're thinking about doing this.". " We're trying that". "This hasn't been working, so we're going to talk about maybe switching to that or that"

"I don't know" makes you sound as hopeless and defeated as you probably are. How do you expect people to battle for you when you're the boss and "don't know. Tired of being asked that". Inspiring leadership for a room that desperately needs it.

RT can go back to his favorite move, and that is to play Stepan on the first line and give him first line PP time. Same goes for Kessel.

    100%

At the very least say, "You know, I don't know but we are going to have to sit down and take a long hard look at what we're doing because it hasn't been working well the last 20 games".

.455 in 2020 aka the 6th worst in the league, just Coyote things. The Devils have been better (.524). Sabres rocking a cool (.553)

Tampa has only lost three games in that stretch, one of which was in OT.

Look at it this way. If we got into the playoffs, RT would be here next year for sure, but if we don't, we should be getting a new coach for next year. That bar has to be set higher.

    The bar -

    - Do you know you have a timeout you can use to rest your best players for key situations?!
    - Do you know you are allowed to play any player at any position of your choosing, regardless of the period of play?!
    - Do you know that generating shot attempts on a 5-3 PP is incredibly easy considering there is only one defender covering the point?!

These very simple questions will help us find the right coach?!

I want Dean Lombardi so f***ing bad. Fire Chayka. Hire Dean. He will take care of the rest. Won’t have to worry about the inept coaches or lazy trash like Kessel and Stepan and Goligoski and OEL. Dean will just take care of it.

I only want two things; 1) Alexis Lafreniere lottery win & 2) Dean Lombardi to replace Chayka.

That’s it. If we got those two things I’d feel cool as a cucumber and right as rain.

Every coach needs to go. I think we have a fine core. Not spectacular, but one that is young enough that we can potentially churn solid vets and we'll scouted picks through to have a Wild/Blues/Rangers like team.

Those players (pansies) in that locker room need a coach that’ll rip them a new one for an effort like that. Or any of the games the last month really. This is pathetic and sad. Maybe we’ll get a nice pick in the 1st roun....oh Nevermind.

We have 68 point with 64gp and sit at the 13th overall pick. Buffalo is at 62p with 60gp and it at the 8th overall. We very may well have traded a top ten pick in a deep draft for three months of Hall. Or maybe the Hall curse is real and we finally win the lottery.

One of those games when the players have tired legs and their coach has no plan B.

Tired legs is the worst excuse going.

"in 2016-17, NHL teams averaged 0.04 less points per game when playing for the second straight night than they did when playing on one or more days rest."

    Statistically insignificant.

The Blues were 10-2. Good teams win and don't make excuses.

    Stats is cool but:
    1. Coyotes now in a stretch of 11 games in a 19 days, this is really tough schedule.

and from this goes the second, about plan B

    2. When the coach relies only on "moving the legs", with no established offensive system, with no puck creativity - that team is screwed it that stretch.

From 19-28 Jan the Yotes did not play one single game. Thye returned from the long break and lost to the Ducks and Kings...two of the worst teams in the league, followed up by a loss to Chicago (another non-playoff team).

Tired legs...rested legs... the same result. It's an excuse - Don't let RT or the players get away with it.

New Jersey is laughing all the way to the bank. 13 OA as it stands today, for a rental, and it might even go higher.
