How fitting that it takes 1 game without Gudbranson to record their first shutout of the season. Would be curious to know how many times over the last 3 years Markstrom only allowed a goal with Gudbranson on the ice.

First off: Gudbranson was not in the lineup for one of Markstrom's shutouts last season either, so Markstrom has 2 shutouts without Guddy in the Lineup and 1 with.

......which gets even funnier when you remember that they were team-mates in Florida as well, although Markstrom didn't start too many games there. I don't have on-ice data going back far enough for Florida but he started 38 games there and didn't get any shutouts. Guddy has been dogging him his whole career!

Over the last three seasons in Vancouver where they've been re-united, Marky has made 128 starts and Guddy has been in the lineup for 93 of them. He has 1 shutout in those games. Guddy even scored a goal! Vancouver Canucks at Dallas Stars Box Score — February 11, 2018 | Hockey-Reference.com. A Markstrom shutout and a Gudbranson goal in the same game. I wonder if we even knew what we were witnessing.

That means, of course, that Marky now has 2 shutouts in the 35 games with Gudbranson out of the lineup.
