Holy god damn, now that's an effort I can appreciate. Nobody else will have the slightest idea what's going on, but Stepan scoring 56 off 169 is a great metaphor for how ****ing slow he is. Also **** you for posting this the moment the real Blackcaps lose a final, you're either following it or it just happens to be a sick coincidence.
On that note, I would continue to just ignore cricket and pretend it doesn't exist, America. Leave it to the rest of us
I've been a cricket fan since about 2010. The cinema where I worked at the time showed 2011 World Cup matches (almost entirely India matches considering they won it; only non-India match I recall them showing was Australia vs. Pakistan) in the middle of the damn night and I volunteered to come "work" during them. Considering it was the ODI format, I basically got to watch most of them and go work the snack bar during the innings break and other intervals.
For the score card, this isn't the first cricket-themed GDT I've ever made. The first one I did was a T20 simulation and I made numbers up, but for this one I used figures from the best test match I've ever watched, which was New Zealand defeating Australia in Hobart in the 2011-12 northern winter/southern summer season. I reversed the team names specifically to troll you, since New Zealand won the match, yet according to the replication I posted, the "Calgary Blackcaps" are Australia.
2nd Test, New Zealand tour of Australia at Hobart, Dec 9-12 2011 | Match Summary | ESPNCricinfo is the score card in question. I also made some parallels on purpose such as Stepan having a useful knock but an incredibly low strike rate. The rule of thumb I mainly followed was that forwards were batsmen, defensemen were bowlers, and the wicket keeper was the goalie.
I do imagine you're right in that no one other than you and me will have the slightest idea of what's going on (
@starman gave a favorable review of my first cricket-themed GDT but I haven't seen him post in years), but like I said, in the GDT signup thread, this thread is almost entirely aimed at annoying you personally.
