Housley and Tocchet had the entire Coyotes roster rested available to choose from and yet Stepan and Kessel start the OT.

Watched it ten times. That was never(!) goalie interference. The leafs goes into stepan outside of the blue zone.

It's really, really starting to f*** me off how they keep forcing Kessel on this team. Tocc is so desperate to save face on the Kessel trade, so he's force feeding him minutes all god damn season trying to get him going, but it hasn't happened and it won't happen. He is legitimately the worst forward on this team and is a huge liability, but Tocc is obsessed and refuses to do the right thing.
Yeah, just watched it as well. Stepan may have his skate in the crease, but the contact itself is with their bodies while Campbell is leaning out of the blue paint.

Kessel will be here for yeeeears... Hopefully by the time he needs a new contract he learns how to be productive or he will be in involuntary retirement. Ain’t nobody giving him $6M ever again.
Pretty weak call. Meanwhile on the Leafs forum they were mad Stepan did not get a penalty.
Was disappointed in Ferraro sucking up to the TML fanbase saying it was an obvious interference. He is usually better than that.

Always liked interacting with Yotes fans. Thought you guys deserved better, that interference call in OT is 50-50 at best. Seemed like a homer call in Toronto's favour. Thought that was a good goal. Coyotes deserved better. Hold your heads high. Got a good young team there. Kessel on the otherhand did not look like the Kessel I recall. You guys might be better off without him.
It was obvious interference, but initiated by the goalie, so it should not be rewarded.

Goalie interference is literally a coin flip situation. The league has absolutely no idea how to call it properly, so it's mostly a guessing game. Given the fact that it was Leafs, at home, in OT, there was zero chance they were allowing that goal.

Yeah, I just don't think it was nearly enough to confidentially overturn the call on the ice. I don't think the prep for facing the Coyotes was done by the broadcast crew honestly. I think it was Gord Miller, with Ferraro, who was rambling earlier about the team being a cap floor team despite this season the team having the highest hit.

Kessel signing was amazing when it happened. The type of signing this team needed. Hasn't paid off. Looks the years are catching up. If he's not playing well he needs to rest on the pine. No pampering. No favors. The money is spent. Make him earn his ice time.

If that is the league standard, then there will be a lot of goals called back. More than have been called. I know no one likes to complain about the reffing, but that was a brutal call. Stepan was barely in the blue ice for literally a fraction of a second and was out of it when the puck went in. The calls will even out for Yotes fans. But this was bad.
I'm not a Stepan fan, but he played that perfectly. That was a terrible call.
Dumb ass pass. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Also, badly played by Oesterle, but that is nothing new.
