Garland and Hall are our best men.
And today i am gonna wear my jersey to f*** up the girl from edmunton.
Might es well yell: "F*** you Oilers, during the lecture"
That is all
I love the way Garland plays, just love it. What a good story. No, what a great story.
Now just have to do it every night. Something they have not shown they can do.
The top D won't be able to sustain those minutes with OEL and Demers out. Gogo gets much hate but he battled real hard last night. Bush played well, and what about that hit. That is exactly what this team needs, on a nightly basics.
That's about right for Richardson, but Keller and Schmaltz both getting reduced TOI. My only gripe is why Kessel getting so much PP time. He kills our PP. Stick handles on the half wall while being stationary.
I was at the game and I thought the difference was our team D. Not just the D men but the forwards doing a nice job in all 3 zones. the Oilers didn't seem like they generated many good chances, Raanta was solid but he didn't win the game for us. I am sure the Oilers didn't play their best game, but as a team our D was much better. This is the key to our success this year, solid goal tending, team D, and capitalizing on their mistakes to get more chances. It reminded me of games early in the year, glad we got 2 points.
Don't kid yourself, the team missed OEL. The top 4 can't play 24 TOI every night like OEL. You really want to play Oesterle 24 TOI every night?
That's what it was last night, for sure.
When the other team relies on their speed, not physical play, the Yotes can hold their own, but when the other teams start the physical play, we run into problems. Let's not get too excited after one nice win.
I agree we need OEL back. Maybe it is good for him to sit and watch the team play well without him. It was good to see Osterle and Boosh have pretty solid games. I didn't see either make many bad decisions or turn the puck over much. It seemed like zone exits were better. Its always hard to figure out how much of our team d play was guys hustling a little more, just making good decisions, or the Oilers being a little flat, maybe a combination?
Class of '89 here. I think you might have known my brother.
Bush brought the physicality that we need. If he plays regularly, he seems to get into a groove and plays well.
Keller and Schmaltz likely received such a drastic reduction of 5v5 time because Tocchet was extremely careful that neither was on the ice when either McDavid or Draisaitl were out there. Which was probably 40 of the 60 minutes in the game.
Garland is gonna be a beast for years to come
Anybody have an idea on what his ceiling could be?
Consistent 20-30-50 guy? More? Less?
Zach Praise lite.
Biggest win of the year? I think so.
Love our team defense. When we're denying time and space like last night, we're a total pain in the ass to play.
It's only one game, let's see how we do the next five.
Garland is becoming my favorite Coyote. The goals are great, but the hustle he showed to set up that third goal was impressive. He had already exceeded expectations, but Hall's influence is turning him into a real consistent threat.
Super disappointed by Keller though. I had high hopes for the guy. I'm not sure he cares much about winning, seems like staying healthy and collecting his paycheck are his top priorities.
Didnt watch the game. Glad to get back to winning. This GDT sucked!!!!
Stop watching games for a while
Haha I dont get to see many these days, nights are full.
Good one. Finally. It turned with the Chicago-game, even if that one was a loss.
Kessel looking worse every day. Unbelievable bad. I think he had one good play or something, early on. And that was it. He does look like he knows it, though.
With some luck he just retires after the season. I can hope.
