Comparing Heinen to Kuraly and Wagner is pointless. They are completely different types of players. He’s getting flack because he’s an easy target. What exactly did Nordstrom do to “show more life”? I didn’t notice him at all.

If you want to talk about mistakes last night, talk about Kuraly and his bonehead lack of coverage on the Giroux goal. McAvoy has the puck deep, and Kuraly was the high forward. Him not falling back earlier, along with Chara’s bad read, led to that goal.
nope, never saw it happen friend, only thing I saw was Heinen with potential GWG on his stick, he`s awful, needs to be traded or moved to 4th line with Acciari stepping up to 3rd line:sarcasm:

I`m a huge fan of the kid, felt horrific watching that puck slip over the top of the blade, you could see him beyond frustrated too

This team made Hart look like a 6 time Vezina winner, once again, other than Backes and.....wait for it.....Heinen, the only two forwards consistently willing to stand in front of the net to try and cause some distractions, headaches for opponents.

The way this team is playing reminds me of Julien coached teams, perimeter shots, nobody there to bang home rebounds. Debrusk moving fast doing little out there, better game from Cehlarik than vs the Jets, more breakdowns from the D men and I understand it to a degree, scoring isn`t coming, trying to create a few things offensively but it`s coming at the expense of them seemingly ignoring that they still need to be aware of their defensive zone. Frustrating

Thought Cehlarik meshed well with Krejci tonite. Don't know why Cassidy swapped him for Heinen late in the 3rd, maybe a little hobbled after blocking a shot
Krejci is one of the best centers in the NHL. They, Sweeney & Co., have to find him a winger.

The team continues to generate few quality chances 5 on 5 outside of the first line.

I would like to see some more nastiness from the defense in the net-front area.

this team has literally zero traffic in front of the opponents net, zero. It goes back to playing at the simplest level. You don`t have to be 6`3 to stand in and take some punishment for the good of the team, making life way too easy for opposing goalies

Anyone feel like looking up the draft TSN analysts comments after the bruin brutal 3 picks in a row? Until this year I wasn't too upset but seeing how effective those 3 players are on other teams you can't help but be frustrated. Some here calling him a genius! I had know idea how bad this move was until now.
Exactly we could have had Chabot, Barzal and Conner, would have set this team up very nicely and no big trades would be needed right now.

They certainly aren't playing a robust style of hockey. It's on the job training for the kids.

Anyway would it hurt Chara to show a bit of nastiness like he used to do?

I think it's up to him to set the tone as captain.

Heinen is not aweful. That shift where he missed the goal was all him. That chance does not even come not for his hard work and beautiful dive to get puck back to defence. There are aweful players on Bruins but a 2nd year kid in sophmore slump is not the issue. The Bruins management is a joke. This should have been fixed long ago.

Agree for the most part. However, Cehlarik has definitely been trying to set up in front of the net quite a bit. Problem is that very few shots are being taken that would allow for it to make a difference. Cehlarik will soon learn though that he shouldn't be near the crease and should be slinging perimeter shots at the goalie. Just needs to adjust to the system.

A couple months ago I would have agreed with you. Now, I'm not so sure. The guy's a warrior and at this stage in his career he should be a complimentary player, not logging 21+ minutes at age 41. It's obvious he's not the same player he once was, but that doesn't mean the coach can use him as a scapegoat. Hey, Butch in the last three games only one goal was scored by a player not on the first line. I think you have bigger issues than ripping Big Z.

I’d sit Chara and Debrusk next game to get Grzelcyk back in. If you really want to send a message to JD, call up Senyshyn for a couple games. I’d like to see Vaakanainen back on the team too, he’d most likely be a step up from Miller and Moore.
This ^^^! They drafted/took a 1st round risk on a guy like Seny. Four years later, play the damn kid already and see what he has. If it's all about the kid auditions and such, they've played Jfk, Freddy, Vak & Lauzon at various points this season. Why not Seny?

I actually hadn't heard that Cassidy ripped Chara until now.

I've been hearing this for at least 5 years now, so obviously DS does not agree with any of us.
Although the lack of scoring is hurting us, our goaltending is masking just how brutal our Defence has become! Chara and Miller should be 3rd pair and PK specialist. If staying with what we have then Carlo Gryz Krug and Moore should be our top 4 and with saying that it shows how bad off we are Defencively! I think we played better Defencively when we had the kids from Providence up.
MacAvoy has been absolutely Brutal since he came back - don't know if he is playing injured or just showing his actual skill level and hockey IQ, but whatever it is some serious decisions have to be made by Coach / Management!

Chara knows he is too slow to hit anyone so he tries to stay in good position which is why quick skilled players make him look like a pylon.

Could be...going to be interesting. Gotta believe Neely and Don will be chatting with Bergeron and Chara regarding coaching decisions.

Carlo with 1 goal out there starting on 3 on 3 and your best scoring forward stapled to the bench and he jams out two defenceman. Then postgame he names the defence.Did they make mistakes?Sure, but so did he.I woke up this morning still hot about that bonehead move.

I have a feeling that this team is experiencing a massive sophomore slump from all the kids. Between Cehlarik, Heinen, Donato, Bjork (injured, I know), McAvoy, Gryz, Carlo (been strong most of season), there are a lot of players that I think need this year to help try and put it together for next year. I'm not expecting much more from this squad this year, but have high hopes for next year. At this point next year, we'll know who is a bust and who isn't. Right now though, lots of growing pains happening, at least I think so. Lots of players with talent and potential still learning how to be pros at the top.

You and me both! Not apposed to starting with 2 D if those D are Krug and Gryz because they have offensive upside and let's face it - no defence is played in OT and that is Carlos strong suit.

I will tell you why.Because the pick was a reach when he made it and if he does come up and not play well it will add to the heat and Sweeney knows it.Easier to leave him there this year.

Man, it just continues to be a puzzling decision by Sweeney. Gives credence to the fact that being the smartest person in the room, means using common sense. Reach during the later rounds. I digress though. Smh.

No killer instinct out there- they can't put teams away. This is getting old. Missed Grizz tonight for sure. I felt awful for Heinen- the slump of biblical proportions for him. But again, lack of secondary scoring is killing them. The best line in hockey gives them two goals every game it seems like and that's all they get.
The B's really to get another line to score.
