After tonight, already more than 10% of the season will be gone!!!

Like someone else point out, if we break the season out into 8 6 game blocks, we need more than 6 points (almost 7) to get to a projected cut line of around 55 points (95 points pro-rated). So for this first 6 game block, we need at least 3 of the remaning 4 points against the Avs and the Yotes.

And really - I think we will need to be a lot better than than, because I think that 9 game road trip at the end of Feb is going to be killer)

Basically 6 points every five games. If we win tonight we're good. If not gotta make up some ground

The roller coaster continues.
Oilers have lead the game for a total of 0:00:00 this year.

Pulled out a SO and OT comeback victory.

Will we lead?
Will we score 5 on 5?
Will Dubnyk let in a weak goal?

I predit 4-2 Oilers

Have you guys seen the penalties the Avs are getting?
Someone on their board say we have 18.5pim/g, they have 25pim/g.

This is going to be ugly ugly ugly.

Sorry, the Avs get 28pim/g.

That is insane haha Half the game they are on the PK.

Macblender time!

Hall - Gagner - Eberle
Smyth - RNH - Yak
PRV - Horcoff - Hemsky
Hairty - Belanger - Petrell

And yes I do realize that Smyth has looked slow this year but he might serve as a calming, veteran presence with RNH and Yak.

HUGE game. I know it's only the 5th game, but it's a divisional opponent that we'll have to leapfrog to get into the playoffs. The Calgary loss hurt us, but I still think they're 5th in the NW when it's all said and done.

Not going to matter what the lines are, if Dubnyk doesn't start making that one extra save we are screwed.

Perfect. Shelter the hell out of Gagners line and It could work.

the best 2 young teams in the west. this will be our new rival for years to come

Minnesota and St.Louis played last night. :p:

This is a game that the Oilers "should" win if they play to their capability but who knows with this group.
Should be another rollercoaster. WEEEEEEE!!!!

If players cant pick up a check in the defensive zone we are screwed. We could have had Pat Roy in his prime in net and the Oilers still lose the 2 games they lost this year.

Going to be much easier to play against without ROR in the lineup. That being said, Duchene is doing a decent job matching up against opposition top lines, so we're going to have to depend on RNH to battle him head-to-head.

Hopefully we add some speed and strength to our 3rd line (MPS, Petrell) - some guys that can skate and play the body against that Stastny line.

They have the make-up to dominate us physically with guys like Jones, Landeskog, Mcginn in their top6. Hopefully our speed makes a difference against the softer line of Duchene-Parenteau-Landeskog.

Colorado Lines:

Landeskog - Duchene - Parenteau - RNH line
McGinn - Stastny - Jones- Horcoff line
McLeod - Mitchell - Hejduk - Hemsky line
Kobasew - Olver - Bordeleau/Malone - whatever

Wilson - EJ Johnson
Hejda - O'Byrne
Zanon - Hunwick/Barrie/O'Brien

We need to blow them out, and instill a sense of confidence.

But for gods sake, break up the first 2 lines.

That's been the Avs fastest line so far this season.

Should be a very North-South game tonight.

I meant it in a context that physically they're going to dominate us.

Landeskog is bigger than Hall
Duchene is bigger than RNH
Parenteau ~ Eberle

Our speed is greater than that line's though.
