The season started so promisingly for the New Jersey Devils. They were 9-3-3 and didn't suffer a regulation home loss until Dec. 9, a sign that they may have been ready to improve on last season's middling results.

But as they welcome the Boston Bruins to Prudential Center on Monday to start 2017, the Devils have lost 10 of 12 and are coming off a 6-2 blowout loss to the Washington Capitals at home.

A game the B's should win...but these bottom teams seem to bring out the worst in them.

I hope they start the new year right with a CONVINCING win!!! Let's go Bruins!!! :handclap::handclap::handclap:

Definitely a game the Bs should win. Would be good if Pasta could come up big and Vatrano could keep things going. This is the type of game that will haunt the Bs at the end of the season if they do not win it.

A night for divided attention with a WJ QF airing the same time.

Do have to feel bad for Joe Morrow as the kid simply needs to play. If it is not going to happen in Boston give him an opportunity elsewhere. Frankie Corrardo is in the same situation in Toronto having played just 1 game so far this season. Flipping JM for a player in a similar situation with another team may be better for all concerned. That does not suggest it has to be TO, just a similar circumstance with any team.

Put some more points in the bank tonight guys.
Let's Go Bruins!

At least the Devils have Gazdic to make them a little more fun to watch. That said, a boring 2-1 game will happen tonight.

Good GDT to get in a Colorado Rockies and even a Kansis City Scout reference.

Devils have a serious talent deficiency and struggling, Taylor Hall is really unlucky. Will be very tight for the Bruins to get into the playoffs, very important to take care of business.
