I bet pulling Petry was precautionary. Maybe get to work on the hand and give him the best chance to play tomorrow. If he can get through tomorrow and there's a W, then he can rest it completely. Unless he can't hold his stick, I think he's going to play.

I saw someone break a pinky in high school my getting it caught in a locker when horsing around after gym class.

Petry's injury looked like it could be the exact same thing.

Without any knowledge of what his injury is, I’m pretty sure Petry is going to play even if they need to hold his finger together with duct tape under his glove. Such an important game and a good chunk of rest if they can wrap it up tomorrow is crucial for everyone. Him coming out to play another shift before hanging back for the 3rd does make me think it was precautionary anyways and they just trusted Carey to shut the door even if we didn’t score another goal.
