First time in a looong time I’ve actually felt a little nervous for a game. I thing it’s a big deal to get to 3-1 instead of .500 going on the road trip. This is a big tone setter for the first quarter of the season.

Sobotka is very clearly a far superior player to the Johan Larsson we have seen the past 2 seasons. And it's about as close as comparing Scandella to Nelson. And I wont be sad when all 4 players are off the team.

Sobotka > Larsson > Elie
Elie is fast and works hard. Larsson has a lot of warts, but he has an offensive touch and plays well along the boards. Neither is helping nor hurting Mittelstadt's development. Once Sobotka is back in the game, i fully expect him to take over for both Larsson and Elie. Curse Housley once he fails to do that. Until then, one waiver pick up being sat for a game isn't going to somehow ruin the team.

Couldn't disagree more, Larsson (post-injury) is one of the worst hockey players I've ever watched in my entire life, he doesn't have warts, he is a wart. And I haven't seen "an offensive touch" out of him in 3 years. He's not good defensively, he's a black hole offensively, and he's slow as balls. Literally the only thing he's good at is stick work and his tenacity on the puck, and his tenacity even took a nose dive last year.

At least Elie can skate...

5-3 Avs, I'm going to predict 2 goal losses every time Larsson is in the lineup.

Pumped for this game and still high off the plays Jack and Sam were making against the Knights. The level of vision and elite playmaking those two and Dahlin to an extent have is special(rare) and really fun to watch. Please bury the Avalanche and keep this momentum.

Larsson is negatively worse on the wing then he is at center. I thought we already went thru this experiment? I would love for him to change my mind but I see two eye sores on this roster. Okposo as 2RW who's game doesn't mesh with Skinner and Larsson as 3LW.

I really need to see a Sabre win against this Colorado team who I think are a legit playoff team, more so than Vegas.

We need to trade some of these forwards off this team, maybe we can recoup some later picks back for this draft seeing as we don't have many picks outside the 1st.

I might just be a homer, but I felt (especially against Vegas) that the Sabres controlled the game and outplayed their opponent despite the shot attempt differential.

While perhaps getting outshot isn’t a sustainable way to play, perhaps the Sabres current style does play won’t consistently result in getting out shot.

The number of times RJ said “but not out of the zone” was lower than usual

Even though that top line for the Avs is nice and will be tough. Our top line isn’t too shabby either!
