This is a big game for both teams, The Bruins need to keep Buffalo within hailing distance and the Sabres are only a point behind Toronto.

Which would you run from in an open field if it's chasing you, a bruin or a buffalo?

Legitimate question. I'd say bear. But i'd also love to have one as a pet...

Last week in Ottawa Jack Edwards was screaming about the Sens having a 5 PM start but the Bruins are doing the same exact thing and Buffalo played in Washington last night.

The Bruins could have played at 7 or 7:30 to avoid going head to head with the Patriots but they wanted to arrive in Montreal earlier because Canada Customs can be a pain at Trudeau Airport.

There is no excuse for the NHL to try and butt heads with the NFL in Boston or anywhere else. The NFL schedule comes out 2 months before the NHL releases their schedule and should avoid conflicts as it only hurts the season average for local broadcasters. 98.5 has to move the game to 92.9 and it all could be avoided.

Me as well. Patriots game is much bigger.

@Fenway can get the numbers but I believe the game last Sunday was destroyed in the local ratings by an out of market NFL game.

Why is that? Patriots may have to play a road game before they go to a SB?

Bruins fighting for their playoff lives is more interesting to me. With the commercials every 2 minutes will give Pats fans plenty of opportunities to keep up on both if they care to.

I will go out on a limb and guess that most hockey fans can give a hoot about who in Boston is watching the Pats when their Bruins are on.

I don't like these 5:00 starts but I will take them over the late starts any day.

Get two points in regulation Bruins! I am excited that Bergy and Zee will be back soon. Hopefully some good news coming later in the week.

You are missing the point. It is not about the fans it is about bad business. The NHL is losing ratings which means losing money when they match these games up against the NFL.

The core Bruins fan will mostly watch but the neutral sport fanwill more than likely switch to the Pats

I've kinda checked out of football over the last couple years but come on, a mid-December game against the Sabres isn't in the same stratosphere as a Pats/Steelers game in mid-December.

Will be watching this game over the Pats, as I'm a hockey first guy. Don't get me wrong, having grown up 15 mins from Foxboro I like the Pats, but after 5 super bowl wins I'm far less interested in the team. I actually find more enjoyment in reading dire hard Pats fans comments after a loss these days, as they're always good for a laugh.

I hate football. I will be at the Garden cheering on the B's.

I think it will be a tough game. Buffalo has a good team this year.

B's 4/ Buffalo 2
