Lapointe was a classic 1990s early 2000s power forward. Good shot. Decent skills. Heavy/hard hitter who could fight and fight his way though the clutch and grab hockey of the day.
Bert is nowhere near as tough as Lapointe, but I can kind of see the comparison. Bert has better hockey vision. Skates a little better too, relative to his era.
Lapointe was rougher, tougher and nastier.

You are way off base, and overrating Lapointe to a huge degree imo.

He was a bottom 6, 20-35 pt guy. He had a great junior career, a recognizable face, and he played on some all time great teams.

Having a short temper does not equal an enforcer or power forward. Lapointe took way more selfish penalties than relevant fights or intimidating shifts/games.

Bertuzzi is a couple consistent years away from leaving Lapointe in the dust.

'Classic' power forwards of that day, were top scorers, not 30 pt guys.
