Usually I go to sleep after 2 periods (old guy issue) because the Jackets are out of it;last night it was because Pittsburgh was. Although I had a bit of trepidation when looking up the final score. Old habits die hard. Good game by the Jackets.

Wennberg TOI 13:43 Milano TOI 14:25. CBJ beats Pens. Coincidence? Maybe, but who cares.

Make a habit out of this coach Torts!

I would wager that Milano played 14+ because the Jackets had a pretty decent lead for half the game. If the Penguins would have been within a goal Milano is probably under 10. It's similar to the argument along the lines of does the team win because they roll four lines or does being in the lead allow the team to roll four lines.

I'm not a fan of Torts but in fairness to him almost every NHL coach plays the vets in tight game situations. The only time they don't give the edge to the vets is when the GM trades away those guys and forces the coach to play the kids.

Nyquist and Foligno obviously has great games last night. So too did Korpi. But this was an interesting stat from the Athletic’s Alison Lukan:

“Riley Nash returned to the lineup centering a line that included Emil Bemstrom and Alex Texier. In limited minutes (7:21), the trio led all Columbus lines in shot quality (83.36 percent of expected goals) and in scoring chances (66.67 percent).”

Good for the kids.

Great points. Not incorporating the game score was an honest mistake by me. The CBJ with 2 and 3 goal leads aren't exactly commonplace events this season:laugh:
