I couldn't watch the game but I checked the goal highlights. One thing that has struck out to me is the team seems to have the bluelines mixed up. Again they give away a high danger chance and an eventual goal by making a hazardous pass at the own blueline that gets intercepted. If they are that eager to make plays at the line, you'd think they'd do the same in the opposing end, but way too often they just seem to dump it in without even following up with anything resembling the kind of pressure you'd need to create possession.
There are problems in the roster for sure, but I think they are underachieving and playing a jumbled mess of a game - not speaking of tonight specifically since I didn't watch it, but games I've seen. Anyway I'm new to Torts and actually really like what I've seen of him this far (apart from how this team currently plays on ice) but he needs to figure out a way how to get anything close to their best out of these guys. I'm still cutting everyone the pandemic slack though, but maybe he can buy them all some ice cream and have an uncle Torts talk about making hockey fun or something.
