Ok, I was a fan of giving Elvis a chance before the season started....now he just needs to GTFO. Seriously, he cost them the win tonight. 2 stoppable goals, and gives it away on the GWG. Time to make a trade Jarmo.
True, but at the same time, this feels a lot like an "apart from that unpleasantness at the end, Mrs. Lincoln..." thing.
Quoting the wrong guy. I’ve called out every single Korpisofty. You can check the GDT. It would have helped, and it would have been longer than a week. They went to the playoffs and won a series. Elvis came over a week or two before the end of the regular season
I honestly cant believe they let him cut his teeth in Columbus to begin with. Somewhere I think I wrote he'd be a great character and story in the league or he'd laughed out of it.
I am sure when he had that teed up that he had visions of grandeur. You can tell when he was flailing around to that shot he was caught off-guard.
This team was not even close to a playoff team to begin with so don't fool yourself. This steak consisted of a win against a depleted Canadiens team and a terrible Red Wings team. Getting 3 PP goals was pure luck.
Goddammit Elvis you can't be that reckless with the puck that late in a tie game. That one's gonna stick in my craw for awhile.
Jackets lost in Winnipeg 4-3 last season too. Gave up winning goal with 1:14 to go last year. Giving away points they can't afford to lose.
Torts once said "the AHL is for development, the NHL is for winning." Jarmo would be wise to get on board with that philosophy.
What a self-inflicted loss. Was Elvis shooting? I have no idea what he was even going for with that ridiculous pass. And even then, it took a brutal deflection off of Savard on the shot. Good to see the power play is still improving.
OT... We still have the best team in America... I'm going to New Orleans January 13th.... Those boys know how to win!!!
You know what is the most telling thing to me? At some point the puck came close to our net, not a shot, totally routine, and Elvis was going to play it but Z comes in and does it instead. They don’t trust him.
Elvis is in his own head. We don’t even know if he can play well because he keeps making stupid plays. He’s not playing well enough apart from hide stupid plays to be given any benefit of the doubt. But I think half his problem is he set himself up to fail if he didn’t come in and look great.
While that clear attempt by Elvis was horrendous, the offence left a bunch of chances out there. Good PP, but 5-on-5 lacked. Columbus just made one too many costly mistake.
The replay from behind the net made the pass attempt by Elvis even more of a head scratcher. What was he thinking about? Needs to spend some time in Cleveland.
