The the so called scrub teams always have seemed to give us a challenge. Its super annoying but I rather face a couple of these bottom feeders to get warmed up early in the season before we face the big shot teams.

If Stone, Duchene & Dzingel walk at the end of the year....Ottawa will have lost all the following players in an 18 month period:

Erik Karlsson
Mark Stone
Matt Duchene
Mike Hoffman
Derek Brassard
Kyle Turris
Ryan Dzingel
Dion Phaneuf
Shane Bowers
Jack Hughes

Now there's good asset management..

Hopefully we've learnt a few lessons after the last game and play with some intensity, start on time then kick the living crap out of the Sens

Looking a bit more cohesive would be nice as well
yeah, they certainly looked slow against MTL the other night. hopefully that was just nerves because they are not going to win many games playing like that. Hainsey has to play less, he's not as good as he used to be IMO.

With Erik Karlsson not on the Senators anymore I wonder who Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson will always keep mentioning no matter what's happening in the game? Could it be Brady Tkachuk given the circumstances in which they drafted him since they gave Colorado their 1st round pick in 2019. Of course that depends if Tkachuk even plays tomorrow.

Hughsons usually good for a few Sedin references during these games too.

"Marner and Tavares feed so well off one another, you'd think they were Daniel and Henrik! Of course they aren't actually twins so its not quite the same thing but you get the point."

Like I said before if Hughson and Simpson want to focus a lot on him they will only do it to make Senators fans feel better since there is a good chance Colorado could get Jack Hughes in the 2019 draft with their 1st round pick, since they choose Tkachuk instead of giving Colorado the 4th overall pick from this past draft.

As long as they don't get senile like Mckenzie and try to persuade us to believe keeping last years pick was the right decision.

Still can't believe he kept that pick. Sens fans would feel a thousand times better today dumping every vet in sight knowing they have a shot at a top pick next season.

Hopefully the Leafs win in regulation against them and it improves the chances of Colorado getting the 1st overall pick via the Senators next year.

Dorion has torn a competitive team apart in an incredibly short amount of time. The problem is it was done without intending to do so.

I wonder what might have happened if they could have traded for Duchene (even if it meant giving up their #1 pick) while holding on to Turris to increase their C depth. They would have been in much better shape and might have fought for that playoff spot year...and not be at risk of giving away the first pick overall in the draft.

Well here's hoping for a strong showing. They won against Montreal, but have to be ready to go this time. I'm sure it's hard getting too hyped when your rivals are so bad, but have to get over that. Just need to play the way they can and it will be a fun game to watch.

sounds like a dumb plan honestly. Rielly and Gardiner excel as puck movers and offensive threats, and their defensive game isn't as strong. Why is he trying to play them to their weaknesses to minimize their strengths? Does he think transitioning the puck is too easy for us and he wants to neutralize our two best puckmovers on the backend?

So do you want to see more of Ron Hainsey in a shutdown role if the Leafs are leading by 1 or 2 goals late in the 3rd period?
