Russia got a solid team. Czechs could surprise with the home crowd behind them but I don't think it's likely here. I'll go 6-2 Russia

I hope for at least one point for the Czech guys. Russia got a very strong squad, I expect them to be proficient in puck possession and passing accuracy. To be successful against them will certainly require a physically extremely demanding effort - to skate a lot, finish the checks, go aggressively after the puck. Don't give them the comfort to get settled in their offensive zone with heads up and create plays. Make them skate hard and fight for the pucks instead. This could be the key to the game.

I'll cheer for the Czechs in this one, hope their team is able to show me why Askarov gets all the hype. Haven't see anything from those guys, just excited to see how all the NHL prospects will do.

Czechs always seem to play Russia well. ... Game 1 of home tournament will give these kids an extra boost, I say Czechs go up 2-0 early but lose 3-2 in shootout.
