3 Knights of the Night

1. P-E Bellemare
A great converted pass to try and rally in the 2nd, plus hitting, taking away and blocking a shot.

2. James Neal
Doing his job playing as an offensive force, a little angry and scoring a goal with a deft touch.

3. Brayden McNabb
A team-high 4 hits, 2 blocked shots, 3rd in ice time and yet a +1 when every other Vegas blueliner was a minus!

Five different goalies for the season! Still some way to break the NHL "record" of most goalies used in a single season. Quebec Nordiques (1989-90), St.Louis Blues (2002-03) and Los Angeles Kings (2007-08) went through 7 different goalies.

I wouldn’t say [the Pens blue line is] terrible. Not playing well would be more accurate.

I agree that the Pens D-men aren't terrible. Letang, who missed the playoffs, is now back.

It's mostly a post-Stanley Cup hangover right now.

Shocked that anyone was plus!

And he was 3rd in ice time! ~ McNabb's season total +/- is 2nd only to Engelland's. McNabb leads the team in blocked shots this year and is 2nd only to 4th line banger Carrier in hits.

The 6'4 212 lbs. defenseman was more productively offensively as a WHL all star and AHL all star, but he's turning into a quality NHL-level defensive defenseman in Vegas. The 26 year old is a UFA at season's end and might be worth re-signing if no substantial offers (at least a 3rd or 4th rounder, no lower) is offered at the dead line.

Here he is at the initial press conference after the expansion draft.

When you're hurtin between the pipes like we are it's just a matter of time before it catches up to you. But we still have a good record and hopefully we get some guys back soon.

Listening to the sinbin podcast, one would think that McNabb and Sbisa were the worst players on the ice.

I think these two, however, are a very pleasant surprise.

I am waiting for Theodore to adjust himself to the NHL and live up to his great potential.

They MUST get an NHL quality goalie in net soon, or they'll be looking toward a high draft position instead of playoffs.
