64 points gets you to the playoffs. CBJ are 7-10 to (7-5-5 to those who want to feel good)

18 points in 17GP *barf*

to get to 64 points then need 46 points in 38 games. 3-2-0 the rest of the year, or 2-1-2.

Pretty easy to see that when your first in the league in goals in the first period , and worst in the league in the second , it’s consistent with what happened in the 3rd period against Chicago .. we take our foot off the gas . Quit doing what worked. That’s coming from the top

We are 5-4-2 in last 11. I don’t understand why people are freaking out like we’re 1-9 or something

lack of consistency, entirely. This team cannot string together wins, let alone sweep a series. 5-4-2 in our last 11 isn’t going to cur it. We’re nearly a third of the way through the entire season. Something has to give soon.

Shout out to all the people who wanted to keep either Savard or Gavrikov OR BOTH over Murray.
2 of those 3 don't have the back of an 80 year old man so sometimes you have choices to make and none of the options are ideal. If Ryan Murray could have been healthy he would be a top pairing on the CBJ for a long time. Yet he never played more than 60 regular season games in the last 5 years.

Just finished watching the game.

With that amount of turnovers on the own end you cannot win.

Btw. has the offside rule changed as in the old rules Aho was clearly offside, and that was not even close like it was on the goal that got called back.

Edit: apparently they indeed changed the rule for this season. The skate doesn't have to touch the ice anymore. I am not sure if I like this rule change. However, those late reviews for offside goals like that one on Saward passing Carolina forward are just BS anyway and should not be allowed. Have a like 5 second rule or something instead so only those goals should be reviewed that happened right after the offside.

With a win tonight, Columbus would be pretty close to 6 points in 5 games that almost always ensures the playoffs spot. Too bad they got L, but it's nowhere lost cause yet.

This team is just now way too bad defending. I don't know what Saward and Kukan are doing.

Great start for the game, but man how bad it turned out.

Not to pour salt in our wound, after being up 2-0, we were outscored 7-1 and that doesn't include 2 goals that were reversed for being offside.

True. But actually 2 goals should have been reversed and that would bring 7-1 to at least 5-1.

For some reason (offside rule change?) only 1 goal got reversed and then Carolina used that PP.

Gavrikov is our best defenseman

No he isn’t. Jones and even Werenski say hello.

His skating is limited and his defensive reads and ability to tie up sticks in scoring situations are just as bad as anybody at times.

He’s better offensively and worse defensively than how most perceive him.

imo
