Wonder if AJ lost his spark last season of fighting to break in vs. Thinking he earned a spot this year and not getting it

Lol. The 3rd and 4th lines are essentially 2 4th lines without Kadri centering L3.

I think they will at least be defensively sound.

The 4th line looks alright as well and could probably chip in a little bit of offense

Not overly shocking that with two of our top forwards out of the lineup we have less depth.

That's the problem. Without Matthews and Willy, we are pretty thin

I would be happy if we Try Johnsson with Kadri, and Kappy, maybe he will score and it will boost his confidence, and Marleau has been bad all year so dont care where he plays.

Apparently Zach Hyman is on the 2nd PP at practice today.

I know the usual posters are going to complain about it, but I'm actually quiet intrigued to see how he does.

Assuming the refs decide to give us some powerplays, that is.

Apparently Johnsson hasn't earned enough playing 7 minutes a night with 4th liners to get a chance with actually talented players

Zero issue with that since we have Kap on PP1. Everybody is where they are supposed to be on the PP.

It's Babcock auditioning him for the 1st unit.

Actually Kap was taken off the 1st PP unit.

They're trying to utilize Tavares' shot while Matthews is out I guess. Marleau just does his net front presence thing.

Kappy didn't work the powerplay today, just the penalty kill. Tavares moved from the net to the sideboards (where Kappy was) Marleau got moved from PP2 to PP1 as the net front guy, and then Hyman replaced Marleau as the net front guy on PP2.

I'm not sure why Ennis and Leivo are staples on PP2. Not sure why Kapanen is either PP1 or not on the powerplay at all.

I'd remove Ennis or Leivo and plug in Kapanen

The mighty hyman has found his way to the pp, and blackhole brown still remains in the top 9. Well done egocock, well ****ing done.

Why put one of your better scorers on the PP anyways when you have Hyman?

I think Hyman on the powerplay is fine for the time being. He can just sit by the net and look for a garbage goal on the 2nd pp unit. Leafs don't have a whole lot of other guys who do that.

I think the 1st and 2nd lines are okay too but Leivo and Brown can switch. It wouldn't hurt. Usually I root for Brown but how does he get to stay there for so long without giving anyone else a shot.

Also wtf is Marincin doing in anymore now that Dermott is good to go. Brutal. I'm not usually on Babcocks case but come on.

Marleau and Hyman on the powerplay over Kapanen is insane

It's to fill out the net front presence. Kap should be in over Ennis though.

Imagine the reaction if Carlyle or Wilson played our AHL MVP 7 minutes a night with 4th liners, healthy scratched Dermott for Marincin or played Marleau Ennis Leivo and Johnsson with a combined 3 goals to their name in October on the PP over our budding young star with 6 goals and 10 points in 12 games.

Kapanen on neither pp unit, I’m not sure about you but I take Kapanen all day over hyman in an offensive situation
