Writing was on the wall. Faceoff specialist who can no longer win draws. Gotta think we'll call somebody up soon.

I would say Erne, he's still waiver exempt and he's not really doing much in Syracuse so not gonna hurt them. He's also the type of player who tend to do better in the NHL than the A and seems like he could be a good option on Johnson's wing a few games.

Not convinced there will be an immediate call-up. In previous years there was always a few players who deserved a call up. Cant say that this year and not convinced that Erne should go to the top of the list based on his less than stellar play. I'd give Conacher another shot up here especially if Killorn is going to be on line with TJ as the PF. Need someone with speed to keep up with TJ and some ability to finish.

I know we tried the Conacher experiment over and over again. I wouldn't mind him getting an extended look with Johnson and Killorn though on the third line. IF that doesn't work, then work out a deal and bring someone from the outside in.

Wonder which lucky mutt gets put to sleep in Coop's doghouse next?

Koekkoek? With Dotchin hurt, if they go 11F, 7D Sustr and Koekkoek will both have to play. Paquette is most likely back , Brown has played well, so doubt he is scratched. So Cooper likely goes back to 12F/6D format, which means one of Sustr or Koekkoek sits.

Sucks for Syracuse. I expect us to put a claim in on the next decent forward who goes on waivers or make a small move for a depth forward. Paquette is back but for how long? We need an extra body.

I liked his game and felt like he made us a faster team overall, and he was pretty reliable when it came to the kind of necessary grunt work that goes unnoticed. Don't really like that we waived him, but I'm happy for him, as he'll probably get more of an honest shake in Ottawa than he was ever going to get under Coop. If recent history is anything to go by, he'll have 15-20 goals by the end of the season.

Not even in the same realm as the other players we let go. He did nothing offensively and was only good for faceoffs, not really a loss and we got a contract off the books.

You're right about us getting rid of a contract. We'll see about the rest. Not that it matters. He's gone.

He's a faceoff specialist that isn't winning faceoffs. He might turn it around in Ottawa and if he does then he's a decent player to have as a 12/13. Not a lot of speed, almost no skill, and pretty small. Very scrappy though.

He’s the kind of player that could succeed under Boucher. They have common history anyway. Good pickup for them, low risk.

Dumont would have really helped the Syracuse leadership issues on and off the ice. Type what you may about his skill level at the NHL level, he would have been just fine in the AHL. Thank you for trying to help, but I would not risk any further players through waivers unless the organization is looking to dump salary via a waiver claim.

I guess that spells the end of Conacher with this organization, he did say NHL or Europe and they now will keep didomenico instead of him.

He's signed for another year..? Don't think he ever stated "NHL or Europe" not that it matters he's on a one-way contract so he's getting paid well in A.
