Per NHL stats, Minnesota leads the NHL in goals scored by defensemen (35) and in percentage of team goals by defensemen (22.7%). The Wild blueliners also rank T-1st in the NHL with 11 PPG (Florida).
Despite not playing since Dec. 15, Matt Dumba ranks T-2nd with 12 goals and Jared Spurgeon ranks T-8th with 10.
Overall, Minnesota defensemen have totaled 113 of the team's 422 points this season, ranking sixth amongst NHL team defensemen with a 26.8 percentage.

Joel Eriksson Ek, Marcus Foligno and Luke Kunin tallied five (3-2=5) of the Wild's nine points Saturday.
Eriksson Ek netted his fourth goal, second in as many games to tie his career high goal streak. He has five points (3-2=5) in his last eight games. Foligno recorded two points (1-1=2) for his 21st career multi-point game, first this season. He leads the team with 148 hits this season. Kunin also registered two points (1-1=2) for his fourth career multi-point game, second in the last three matches. He is on a career-high three-game point streak (1-4=5). The 22-year-old owns a career-high nine points this season while matching his career-best two goals.

Dumba hasn't played in two months and is still tied for 2nd in the NHL for goals by a dman?? Crazy to think what could have been if Calgary didn't goon it up.

Dumba could have just as easily not dropped the gloves, or turtled like Tkachuk did in the fight. The blame is just as much on him as it is CGY.

How many fights turn into dances, or someone slips and falls and fight over. Nobody would think anything of it, Dumba doesn't have a long history of facepunching. Answering the bell was what mattered in that fight.

Saying it's CGY's fault Dumba is injured is silly. They didn't run him though the boards with a cheapshot or anything. Dumba chose to drop the gloves, so it's half on him.

WTF are you talking about? Dumba got his face imprinted into the ice while he "turtled" during the game he threw the clean hit. Then Calgary was making pointed efforts to go after Dumba the next game cause having his head mashed into the ice just CLEARLY wasn't enough. Calgary absolutely gooned it up and eventually got Dumba to fight, resulting in injury. Hell, they got RYAN SUTER to fight. Think about that for a second. They also f***ing kneed Koivu prior to Dumba's hit. They're a goon squad. I have no sympathy for anything bad that happens to that team.

Dumba tore his pec in the fight, no fight, no torn pec, FFS he dropped the gloves 40 secs into the game. He went into the game expecting a fight.

He laid out a good hit the previous meeting, yes. But think how pissed Wild fans/players would be if CGY laid out Spurgeon/Granny is a similar fashion? Gio answered the call for his bad hit on Koivu late in the 1st.

CGY was playing big boy hockey /cry. Same things you see every Playoffs or even rivalry regular season games. Pushing, shoving, roughing, chirping, etc.

Dumba's injury was the result of his actions. Tkachuk didn't cause the injuries, he was too busy turtling.
