Wild Warmup: Minnesota at Anaheim

The Wild got several regulars back on Thursday night in Anaheim and could get a few more back, as defensemen Jonas Brodin, Carson Soucy and Brad Hunt, as well as forward Victor Rask and goaltender Cam Talbot each practiced with the team on Friday after being removed from the COVID-19 protocol list and flying to the West Coast from Minnesota on Thursday.

Their entry into the lineup won't be known until Saturday afternoon, but Talbot will not be available. Evason said he wants to give his starting goaltender at least another practice before putting him into game action, which means Kahkonen will make his eighth start of the season. Dereck Baribeau will serve as Kahkonen's backup.

I wouldn't mind if Addison got one more game before going back the the AHL.

Practice lines yesterday, Mermis out for Brodin, so it looks like Addison will play tonight unless Soucy is ready.

But to be honest, give Suter a break, last game he had to clean up a lot of Addison's mess.

Greenway-Eriksson Ek-Fiala
Kaprizov-Johansson-Zuccarello
Parise-Hartman-Foligno
Sturm-Bonino-Bjugstad

Suter-Addison
Brodin-Dumba
Cole-Spurgeon

I was thinking Addison in a more sheltered 3rd pair/PP role with Cole (or Brodin) and Suter/Spurgeon back together.

I don’t mind this lineup, but I would swap Sturm and Hartman.

It makes no sense to me playing Sturm on the wing.

Should be a W?

Would like to see a return of the Calder winner Kaprizov but will be difficult for him to keep carrying around a couple anchors on his back.

Option 1 for tonight.

So Johansson banged up probably can't play.

Who's in between Kaprizov and Zucc? Yep...Rask :DD

Why Rask plays above Sturm I will never understand.

Someone has to carry Bonino and Bjugstad on the 4th line. Sturm draws the short straw there.

Kaprizov and Rask looked decent together against COL. Might as well see if they can do it again, or it was a fluke.
