He is 5'11''. The smallest drafted goalie was a sole 6'. All others at least 6'1''. And two 6'8'' guys I've never heard of. Russia's backup for the upcomung WJC Skotnikov who is 6' was not drafted. I think you get the picture.

It took Miftakhov two extra years to get drafted, as well.

He has the second highest SV% in the MHL at .941. The guy with the highest SV% has played 19 less games and is only at .942.

I think he has a good chance to make the Russian WJC team next year. From there, if he can get a game or two as Askarov's back up and show his game more to scouts on the bigger stages, maybe he's drafted in 2022 or signed as a free agent eventually.

I doubt he's drafted this year, but I hope he is. He should've been in 2020.
