Former ECAC goalie at Union College, he was the starter as a junior but didn't have as much success in his senior year.

Played a limited number of ECHL games but had decent numbers and also played well in 14 SPHL games.

Any chance he moves up or has opportunities overseas in 2020-21?

Unfortunately the opportunities for goalies on ECHL contracts are few and far between. Most teams get goalies assigned on NHL or AHL contracts, and are obligated to take them and give them playing time. Kupsky's opportunity would be similar to last season - get a camp tryout somewhere, sign in the SPHL if he gets cut out of camp, and take every opportunity to fill in that comes along. If he makes the most of every appearance, maybe he can hang around while an ECHL team is shorthanded, and if fortune smiles on him someone above him in the pecking order gets injured or has a terrible year and he can get an AHL contract as the sixth or seventh goalie in someone's system for a couple years.

Goalie is a tough position to move up a level in without an already higher level team taking an interest in you.

It doesn't work this way in reality, but mathematically if you were the 193rd best forward playing in North America you're in the NHL. If you were the 193rd best goaltender you're not playing pro hockey.
