G Ilya Sorokin was drafted 78th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft (Islanders),
but has not played a single game in the NHL, has a 1 year left of his contract (CSKA)
Ilya is 24 year old today.

His KHL numbers for CSKA are insane:
(his shots faced per game avg do explain his stats though, mostly,
nevertheless his stats are super impressive)

14-15 Season: 6 games, 1.31 GAA | .937 SV% (16.6 shots faced per game)

15-16 Season: 28 games, 1.06 GAA | .953 SV% (22.4 shots faced per game)
play-offs: 20 games, 1.32 GAA | .945 SV% (24.4 shots faced per game)

16-17 Season: 39 games, 1.51 GAA | .929 SV% (22.3 shots faced per game)
play-offs: 7 games, 2.03 GAA | .926 SV% (28.2 shots faced per game)

17-18 Season: 37 games, 1.59 GAA | .931 SV% (23.1 shots faced per game)
play-offs: 18 games, 1.52 GAA | .930 SV% (22.0 shots faced per game)

18-19 Season: 40 games, 1.16 GAA | .945 SV% (19.1 shots faced per game)
play-offs: 20 games, 1.19 GAA | .947 SV% (22.8 shots faced per game)

CSKA has an insanely good defence. They allowed 75 goals in 62 regular season games and 24 goals in 20 playoff games, so his numbers are really, really inflated. However, he is a good goaltender.

Sorokin is the last one from the S-three-pack Sorokin - Shestyorkin - Samsonov.

Samsonov was OK in AHL, but nothing special
Shestyorkin will be challenging NA hockey this season, lets see.
Sorokin - who knows, when or if will he travel to NHL.

This is an absurd take. You are no North American, how come you buy into their stupid hypes? The question I asked numerous times: name one russian prospect who never ever tried to go to NA and make it there? Yet, the stupid narrative about "if he ever comes to NA" remains alife and kicking. Sorokin will go after his contract expires. He might also be a safer bet than the other two to become a solid starter on any level.

Carter Hart was okay, but nothing special in the AHL -> Forget the AHL numbers. Samsonov will be just fine.

Shestyorkin is facing a difficult situation in NYC. With Georgiev's emergence he will have to fight for it. But he has the tools.

Best defensive team by far and since last season basically the team to beat in the KHL. They have also lost nearly noone in the offseason and instead even improved their championship roster. I fully expect them to dominate while SKA has passed the torch. Good goaltending helps things too, let's not forget about that. Sorokin is going to hold on to those numbers. Yes, they are inflated due to the quality of the team, but he is still my favourite G prospect not named Askarov(who is nearly a different generation though being 7 years younger), because of his style. So calm and composed all the time.
