Saw him listed on the Swamp Rabbits protected list (with the aforementioned Kupsky) but in checking on his stats it appears he only played three games for Kansas City this past season.

Was this due to injury? Was a bit surprised he wasn't signed by either the Oilers or Capitals after his final two seasons at Providence, though the Friars were a strong team so maybe his numbers were more a result of the play in front of him. Still sub-2.00 and a .920 save percentage over 81 games?

The Oilers had a logjam of goalie prospects, we just didn't have much room for him. Stuart Skinner, Olivier Rodrigue, Shane Starret, etc.

I was surprised too. Seems like a no brainer for an AHL deal. Perhaps he chose to use his education over the uncertainty of toiling in the minors.

I notice the Swamp Rabbits made him a qualifying offer, from the ECHL press release last week. So they might bring him back, or they are holding onto his rights for a possible trade.
