Justin Williams is pretty much a hall of fame lock imho.

As far as Jaccob Slavin and babys - All of them.

I’m not sure how you retire Williams number since he’s had two, and most fans identify Jordan with #11 more than Williams and he’s worn 14 for less than 100 games. It’s just a weird situation for a jersey retirement.

If they don’t retire Staal and Ward it’s because someone is being petty.

Anyone else? Depends on how/if they leave and if Dundon still owns the team. I can see him being the type to not retire a jersey out of spite. I can also see him not giving a f*** either so who knows.

If Dundon thinks he can make a buck and create publicity, he won't hesitate to retire a jersey IMO, even if it's not warranted. Of course, that's really no different than any other owner.

I see Svech, Aho, TT, and Slavin being the main core for years. Leading us through many playoff runs. I think it’s going to be a rare occurrence to miss the playoffs over the next 10 seasons. We’ll be having a bunch of retirement nights in the mid to late 2030’s for these guys when it’s all said and done.

So the Canes are going to retire the jersey of a life long NY Ranger? :sarcasm:

I don’t think they’re going to retire Canes guys numbers in Houston, but that’s just me. :sarcasm:

And what a loss the number 74 will be to any future rosters.
We need to get a good 75 and have it retired too so that a future GM in charge of the retirements can watch the rafters and feel sorry ever after for having been the one to let them go.

Eric Staal:
Jersey retired by the Canes? - Yes, and it will be good to get some positive-minded closure on that era.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - I actually think he makes it on like his 5th chance.

Cam Ward:
Jersey retired by the Canes? - Yes, see Eric Staal.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - Not close.

Justin Williams:
Jersey retired by the Canes? - No.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - No, but he'll come up a lot and people will hate him for it.

Sebastian Aho:

Jersey retired by the Canes? - No. He will score a lot of points but not be regarded as a franchise player.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - No. Not quite at that level.

Teuvo Teravainen:
Jersey retired by the Canes? - No.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - Not even close.

Dougie Hamilton:

Jersey retired by the Canes? - No.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - No.

Jaccob Slavin:

Jersey retired by the Canes? - I think he'll play here for a long time, and be bigger in the community than any Cane has been before. I'm gonna say yes, especially if we win a Cup.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - Depends on how many points he scores.

Andrei Svechnikov:

Jersey retired by the Canes? - You know what, he's got a great shot at being our all time goals leader. Imma say yes.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - **** it. Yes.

Martin Necas:

Jersey retired by the Canes? - No. I don't think he's a long-termer here.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - No.

Patrick Marleau:
Jersey retired by the Canes? - Yes, and secretly on the 2021-22 schedule already.
Hockey Hall Of Fame? - Yes, waiting period waived.

Eric Staal: Jersey retirement? Yes
Hall? Actually I'm going yes. Very likely to get to 500 goals, still the leading scorer from one of the best draft classes ever, consistently ppg+ for a long stretch despite a weak supporting cast, very respected by the hockey media and decision makers... far more so than by the every day fan.

Cam Ward: Jersey retirement? Yes
Hall? Lol no

Aho: Jersey retirement? Too soon to tell. If he leads us to a couple cups or wins some hardware here, sure. But the former is the only one that's all that realistic
Hall? If he has another gear and becomes a consistent 90+ point guy maybe

Turbo: no on both counts

Hamilton: see turbo

Slavin: Jersey retirement? I think he'll be a career guy here so ima say yes
Hall? I'm going to say no, and it won't be because he wasn't good enough. Defensive d are unfortunately ignored by the hall basically, and he doesn't play in a large market. Suter might end up being a good test case here, if he gets in easily on the first shot there's hope.

Svech: he's trending the right way on both

Necas: no on both, he'll be an excellent player but never really be "the guy" here. I think he ends up being an Alex Tanguay level player.

Williams: Jersey retired? No
Hall? You know what I'm going to say yes for the lulz. 20+ years from now he'll be this generations Dick Duff type induction that makes people say "what? wait really?!"
