As of January 13, 2020:

The target for the playoffs is 93 points. The Kings would need 53 points in 35 games, a record of 25-7-3 (a percentage of .757).

The target for worst record is 47 points. The Kings would need to get no more than 7 points in 35 games, a record of 2-30-3 (a percentage of .100)

The current record projects to 70 points, and 30th of 31.

No one in their right mind is going to say playoffs. Top 5 pick again, we will lose a few regulars by the trade deadline, some kids will come up and play well but will be offset by vets that know the season is a loss and most games will have minimal effort.

If Quick starts the majority of the games the rest of the way, I’ll take the under on 70 pts

Don't be so sure, last two years as soon as team had a small mini run (this year it was before Christmas) and even got within binocular view there were playoff posts.

BTW these numbers really show just how awful Detroit really is. Good lord. Wish they had been this bad when I was there.

In the beginning of the season around the first couple games of high scoring and first mini run I thought they had a chance of playoffs but also had fear of black hole. Now im glad to be getting a nice pick.
This season has been better than last regardless of standings. Last season I felt was a chore to watch.

They really need some high end talent that can win some games and spark others on the team to elevate their game. I wish Kopitar and Doughty could raise the compete of the other guys but they are maybe not the leaders they could/should be. Time will tell how they will learn to carry the weight of the rebuild or else you maybe ship out one and be better off keeping clifford, carter, martinez as leaders.

As of today, prior to game vs Flyers the Kings have the 30th place points % in the NHL. Of course Detroit is 31st place.

I believe Seattle is ahead of us too aren't they? It's Lafreniere or a total tank fail. 33 more games sheesh, draft lottery day cannot come soon enough.

Just for fun - there are only 5 players on the Kings 62 man reserve list who were acquired by trade from another NHL team. All 57 others were either Kings draft choices or free agents signed by the Kings. The free agents could be from other NHL teams, college, unsigned draft choices, undrafted players.

Can you name those 5 players without looking them up? There was one I couldn't think of.
