It does not look good but Waddell is not the one signing the pay checks. Let's see.

I don't understand your logic. You think it is just a bargaining tool for Aho and his agent ?

For that amount yes I do since I don't think the Canes let Aho walk for that OS amount. Aho will get close to the 9.5m x 5 that he was asking for and the Canes get the player a little cheaper than what the player wanted.

Aho wanted a five year deal. He got one. And I think it doesn't matter for him if he plays those 5 seasons in MTL or Carolina. When he will be 27, he probably will make 15-20 M$ a season.

No one cares
The owner is a billionaire that has poured millions in investments in the arena in the last year alone.

People thinking Canes will have trouble with the bonuses live in the past. They don't. They will match 100%.
Well, I think that the reason that they picked Carolina is because they might have info that we do not. You might be right but it is still a bold move.

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
I believe this offer is hiding something bigger. Not a trade or a signing. I believe someone is trying to put an owner of a welfare franchise on the spot..
Or its an owner that just missed the playoffs 3 times in 4 years whos got a goalie loaded for 10.5m for 8 years that said he wanted to f***ing win before or he bails during habs meeting at the end of the season

But if it don’t work the habs didn’t improve at all
Same team on the ice. They won’t make the playoffs.
Couldn’t give a rats ass about Dundon. I want the Hans to win
Offer was too low
This seems bigger than a hockey deal to me.

Exactly. RDS saying just now that if the Habs structured their OS that way, it's cause they know something about the breaking point in the Canes's situation.

I hope they had this info. Still, I would've come way over the top. Made them go to Deutsche Bank like broke-ass Donald Trump to retain their star player.

What’s next. This was a ballsy move, but with so many picks including a 1st in 2021 can they not sign another offer sheet?

It was between Aho and Point. Same agent. He told MB to chose Aho. he must know a thing or two about the success rate of this move for the Habs.

And 22 M$ in bonuses for an agent means lots of $$$$$ for him.

I'm guessing if the Canes are hesitant to pay Aho this much and don't like the pick compensation the Habs and Canes can discuss other compensation options like roster players, prospects and picks instead.
