With all due respect to Freddy, he was at fault for 1 of the 4 goals. The other 3 were unsavable.

Canes fans just using Freddy as the fall guy.
Not THE fall guy. But definitely wasn't great. He can own that without his fans crying "it's not ALL Freddy's fault the team lost"
No, he wasnt very good. Again.

The first goal was unsaveable? Am I blind?
Freedy had no clue where the puck was.

You get what you pay for.

Rob should be fired for starting this guy.

Carolina needs a shake up.

The bigger the game, the worse he gets. Surprised Carolina started him today but I'm sure they learned their lesson.

Definitely should fire Rob. I’m pretty sure he runs one of the concession stands and overcharges without anyone noticing.

Rod, on the other hand, is one of the better coaches in the league and shouldn’t be fired because his team lost to the President’s Trophy winners.

The stat graphic probably is accurate. But for times Leafs are winning and trying to win the fourth game.

He's also the ~30th highest paid goalie. The Canes choose not to invest in goal, so don't attack the goalie for living up to expectation.

This is a Carolina front office problem and not an Andersen problem.

Old picture but this is Freddy Andersen’s career in a nutshell. He did it in Anaheim, the Leafs and now Carolina for years. The Leafs did the right choice moving on from him. He is a playoff chocker and the pressure gets to him when closing series or elimination games.

Get ready to bump this thread when Toronto reacquires Andersen in July.

In a world where it’s a game 7 with deboer as coach and Anderson is goalie on the same team , which record falls? Or does the universe implode?

2 of 4. Plus a leaker that was only saved by Martinook's stick. He had a bad day, even for him. No use sugar-coating it. The only thing the Rangers did was diligently exploit the huge, self-inflicted wound that was a goalie playing well below playoff quality standard. Good on ya, but that's what it was.

What? Goals 1 and 2 were 100% on Freddy. What part of them was "unsavable"?

What was he supposed to do on the second goal? Zib put the puck into his skate, and less than a second later Kreider jammed it into the net. It’s not as though the initial “shot” came from in front so that he could direct it away, and he didn’t have time to drop into a blocking position.

The only way that play gets stopped is if Kotkaniemi locks up Kreider on the way to the net, which would have given Andersen enough time to cover the loose puck. But with Kreider skating free, there was little that Andersen could do.

Especially goal 1 he's making clown jumps and battling windmills when he's supposed to be goaltending.

The first one was a bit weak maybe, but it certainly wasn't 100% on him. I'd first and foremost blame Orlov for the assist and then it was tipped by Trocheck right in front of Andersen.

Hold the post. In that situation, Kreider couldn't do anything to score if he just holds the post and stays still.

Okay but did you watch Andersen jump to the left fighting windmills when no opposing player was even close to the puck, and then subsequently clown jump when trying to get back?

Okay, maybe the tip goes in anyway, but Andersen gave them half the net to shoot at completely unprovoked.

I also wouldn't really blame Orlov, I think his pass was good, his teammates just didn't receive it for reason X.

Sure, but he was probably completely surprised by Orlov just passing that puck to Panarin. As I said, he certainly shares some of the blame on the first goal, he has to play it better. But I'd blame Orlov much more, as he had no pressure, no Ranger near him and yet he makes such a bad play right onto Panarin's stick.
