I would doubt everyone wants him then too, what about if he gets 6 mil?
Then there would be a lot of teams in on him.

Why won't they play Laine with scheifele?
How many Jets games did you actually watch?
???
Laine had a better 5v5 P/60, better 5v5 total counts, and 2 less points in 3 less games played than Wheeler.
He also had 63 points in 68 games, you're acting like he scored 40 points this year.
Again don't know if this is a reliable source.
Rumor: Winnipeg submit an offer for Wild D, Matt Dumba

Lol. That's the best your so-called best player (your words) could do this year despite optimum conditions? He was behind a broken down, obsolete Blake Wheeler! Lol. What more does Laine need to perform as a generational goal scorer?

Seems pretty fair as an outside: ~60 pts winger (given historical average) for top 4 defenseman; both with upwards potential? Given that wingers are generally less valuable than defensemen, it seems like a hockey trade. If this is actually true:

Not sure if Minnesota would do this given their need for C.
I mostly agree. Ehlers is more valuable, but I don’t hate Dumba as a base, but I do think there should be a plus, even if just because of the difference in contract length. It's really not. Dumba could have been good this last year (which he wasn't) and Ehlers would still be better.
People keep sleeping on the year Ehlers had on a garbage Jets team and how good he has been over the last few years.
The Jets can’t afford to trade Ehlers. He’s basically the only guy on the team that can carry the puck into the offensive zone. If they trade him, Scheifele is the only line driver left on the team.Seems pretty fair as an outside: ~60 pts winger (given historical average) for top 4 defenseman; both with upwards potential? The rumor that has swirled around Winnipeg is that Laine wants a big 2nd contract. Think Marner big. The Jets are really unsure if they want to spend that on him
Well the Jets can use a D
The Habs can use a winger
The Wild can use a C
SO
To MTL: Ehlers
TO MIN: Danault
TO WPG: Dumba
Ok so the Jets have no interest in trading Ehlers for Dumbo fine.Jets are the losers on that

Terrible value for Winnipeg. Pretty bad for Minnesota too unless they get to agree on a contract with Danault before. Pretty clear what fan base would be proposing this oneWell the Jets can use a D

No just make it Dumba for Ehler. You have UFA Danault returning Ehlers
Actually some Minny fans love the ideal of getting Danault.Terrible value for Winnipeg. Pretty bad for Minnesota too unless they get to agree on a contract with Danault before. Pretty clear what fan base would be proposing this one
