Does anyone have a strong opinion as to what Marco Rossi should rated and what potential? I want to create as accurate a 2020 draft class as possible... From this video can someone tell me roughly what potential I should give Rossi for most realistic simulation?

Yeah guys who have higher overalls will usually end up better from what I've seen and being med elite or franchise doesn't necessarily guarantee a good player if they are horribly low. One med franchise goalie was 40ish overall and was only a 77 later on so basically just an AHL goalie or a backup if one got hurt. Though top 10 picks that are med elite and should already be 70ish will always be good players.
Alright, well at least it makes more sense than NHL 18.

I’ve always given him high top 6 (even in NHL 18), but I’ve seen some people give him medium top 6.

Fredericton Warriors 2018-2019 Season

As February rolled around, the Fredericton Warriors found themselves 32nd in the NHL, as many expected. Their play has fallen off of the pace they displayed in the opening quarter of their inaugural campaign. Focus shifted to potential moves as the Trade Deadline looms closer. GM Daniel Alfredsson would stick to his promise of not dismantling his roster during the team's first year. On February 3rd, struggling winger Marcus Foligno, alongside Arizona's 5th round pick, was shipped to the Nashville Predators in exchange for the Predators' own 5th rounder. "We thank Marcus for his time here, and felt he deserved a fresh start, which Nashville will be able to provide" Alfredsson remarked.

Foligno's struggles paired with his contract made him a hard sell in trade talks. About 3 weeks later on February 21st, Alfredsson swung a deal involving defenceman Dmitry Kulikov. The Warriors sent Kulikov alongside the recently acquired Nashville 5th rounder to the Toronto Maple Leafs, getting the Maple Leafs' 3rd and 5th round selections in return. "We wish Dmitry the best with Toronto, and are happy to expand our pool of picks for the upcoming draft" Alfredsson said.

Kulikov's play garnered interest from other teams, as Toronto came forth with the offer. Fredericton now has 9 picks in the 2019 Draft, a positive sign for the future of the team. As the Trade Deadline came, Fredericton's record sat at a dismal 22-32-9, last in the League. Fredericton swung a single deal on deadline day, trading centre Brandon Sutter to Carolina for the Canes' 4th round pick in 2019. "We hope for nothing but the best for Brandon as he returns to the city he began his career in" Alfredsson said.

Sutter, like Foligno, had been banished to the press box after struggling in the first half of the season. GM Alfredsson stuck to his promise of keeping his team intact, while adding 2 more draft picks in the process. Fredericton would win just 5 of their last 19 games, finishing the season last overall with a 27-45-10 record. "We're happy with the steps we took this season, and are focused on building a foundation for the coming years" Alfredsson said. Does anyone know how to get text below a table ?? So frustrating
I copy & paste from Excel which seems to automatically go to a new line after you paste it, but

function, you can press the right keyboard arrow until you're out of the table (the blinking line will be the height of the table), then press enter to go to a new line.

The only thing I don't like about Fog of War is that you have no idea how much your players have progressed/regressed until like a month into the season.

What I hate in Franchise mode is when I trade a player from anither Team during a season there are no spli statistics between old and my Team. In past Issues time ago I know it was not like this. I want to know full history of players. Full statistics during a season, with split stats vs each Team he played. Minimum kast 5 game stat. Trades and for whom or what be traded. Hot and cold streaks, Cup Rings, Honors. The most joke is that you can not open games in calender to look for past games stats.

Fredericton Warriors 2019 Off-Season

home-share-bg.png

The Fredericton Warriors have wrapped up their first season in the NHL, finishing 32nd as many predicted. For an expansion team, the Warriors did show some promise on the defensive side of the puck, however. It was their scoring that was hampered at times, though some players posted respectable totals considering the circumstances. One of those players was Brett Connolly, who inked a 3 year, 2.600 per year extension with Fredericton on the eve of the NHL playoffs. "Brett was a huge part of our top six, and will continue to be for the next few seasons" GM Daniel Alfredsson said. The next event circled on the Warriors' calendar is the NHL Draft Lottery on June 20th.

cut.jpeg

Well, the lottery would spoil Warriors fans' dreams of picking 1st, as Fredericton would wind up with the 4th pick when the dust settled. Columbus was the night's big winner, skyrocketing to the 3rd pick from the 12th slot. Colorado would hold onto the 2nd pick courtesy of Ottawa, while the Rangers won the 1st overall pick from the 9th slot. "You have to respect a system that discourages poor play" Alfredsson said. "We are confident that we'll still get to draft a great player that will help us in the long run". On draft night, Fredericton would add a blue chip prospect to their cupboards. "With the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NHL draft, the Fredericton Warriors are proud to select, from the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League, Kirby Dach!"

The Blades' centre highlights a solid draft class for the Warriors, while Grigorenko has the potential to develop into a starting goaltender someday. "Having 10 picks was important for us because we wanted to build a prospect pool" Alfredsson said. "We feel we've added some impressive young talents to our organization these past 2 days". Attention shifted to re-signing players, and practically every impending free agent re-signed with the Warriors, with defenceman Seth Helgeson the only skater opting to pursue further opportunities. Fredericton found themselves below the cap floor when July 1st came, but GM Alfredsson was not interested in dealing out inflated contracts to hit the floor. In terms of signings, the Warriors added 3 skaters to their organization. The lone NHL signing would be defenceman Jon Merrill, who inked a 2 year deal worth 3.300 per season. Also signed were defenceman Casey Nelson and winger Pavel Koltygin. To address the cap floor situation, Fredericton swung a pair of deals with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings. "We needed to add cap, but wanted to make sure the guys we got were players that can step into our lineup" Alfredsson said. It will be interesting to see how Brown fits into the lineup, as he was shuffled to the bottom six lines in Toronto due to their depth. A fresh start with the Warriors could be what rejuvenates his still young NHL career. Leivo could start in the AHL, but could easily win a spot in training camp as well. Abdelkader provides a veteran presence and physical game that could endear him to the local fans, and strengthen the Warriors' 4th line. The overall makeup of the Fredericton Warriors appears the same, as they look to build on their first season in the league. Stay tuned for preseason coverage as Fredericton gears up for their second season in the NHL.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 25, 2020

The NHL entry draft concluded last night as 217 NHL hopefuls were selected. The Edmonton Oilers surprised no one by selecting Alexis Lafreniere out of the QMJHL first overall.

The Vancouver Canucks selected Norwegian winger Emanuel Jovanovski from the Lahti Pelicans of the Finnish Liiga with the 6th overall selection. The Canucks also selected the first goaltender of the draft with their 36th overall selection, American Kris Hoffman.

Several trades were executed at the draft with one occurring in the first round, seeing Columbus move up to 26th overall from 29th in a trade with Boston.

NHL 19 - Franchise Mode - Vancouver Canucks - 2020 Offseason

June 30, 2020

The Vancouver Canucks re-signed sophomore goaltender Thatcher Demko to a 5-year, $34.625M contract ($6.925M AAV) and veteran defenseman Christopher Tanev to a 4-year, $20.4M contract ($5.1M AAV) this past week, amongst most others who were set to hit free agency.

Three players who will not be returning to the Canucks organization next season are depth defenseman Alex Biega and veteran minor league defensemen Evan McEneny and Ashton Sautner.

The Canucks GM commented, "We're sorry to see these fine men leave the organization and we wish them the best in the future. Roster spots needed to be cleared both to conform with the AHL's veteran rule and to get ice time for our young developing players so we can analyze what we have coming up through the pipeline."

This leaves the Canucks with 27 forwards, 15 defensemen, and 5 goaltenders under contract heading into July 1.

Today concludes yet another frenzied free agent season. Jeff Skinner earned himself the biggest piece of the pie, signing in the Big Apple for 5 years. Skinner is coming off a 25-goal, 56 point season after signing a 1-year deal with Detroit last summer.

Three restricted free agents were plucked from their previous teams via offer sheets, the hardest hit of which were the Winnipeg Jets who lost defenseman Jacob Trouba and centre Jack Roslovic, receiving three draft picks in each of the first three rounds of next year's draft as compensation.

They really need to tweak the logic for "untradeable" contracts in this game. Last night I was trying to trade Schneider at half salary (3 mil) who was 81 rated at the time (I downgraded him). And was offering him to teams that had one or zero NHL capable goaltenders at preseason. No one would take him for a 7th. That seems bad enough, but when I add NICO HISCHEIR into the deal........... still for just a 7th round pick teams do not accept.

Got bored of the Rangers GM, who should I rebuild ? LA or Ottawa ?

Going to have a couple of future legends added into the draft. Including the best player since McDavid.

Considering Chicago aswell and maybe NYR again... idk

It would be nice if there were counter-offers

Dorion shocks the hockey world

February 2nd 2019,

With the Sens sitting at 20-24-7 on the season, and tied with Toronto for the best lottery odds, Pierre Dorion called time on his tenure with the team. He called a press conference this morning where he announced that he is leaving his role as GM. He was candid and open with reporters citing the circus that has become the Ottawa Senators over the past 2 years as his main reason for stepping down.
pierre-dorion.JPG

" It's hard, every day it seems there's more drama, and it's really crazy. No matter where you go there's always a scandal to find and I'm tired of it. It's affecting my own health and I just need a break so today i am stepping aside." -Pierre Dorion

The once glorious franchise has had a major fall from grace, starting from the departure of now estranged legend Daniel Alfredsson, and culminating with announcements from both Matt Duchene and Mark stone that they will not re-sign in Ottawa when their contracts expire. Other major stories that have hurt the Senators include the team's struggle to get a new arena, relocation threats and the divorce between the team and Erik Karlsson. It would seem that the final nail in the coffin was this week's announcement from Stone and Duchene. The Duchene trade is now infamous as the team has nothing to show for it and it traded what will be a high selection in a loaded draft, featuring the likes of Jack Hughes, Kaapo Kakko and Derek Giroux, all 3 are said to be franchise players. The 3 are currently battling it out for the top spot.

No one can fault Dorion for leaving, he tried to keep his team together but circumstances beyond his control lead to his demise and that of the team. Owner Eugene Melnyk declined our interview request but did say that he understood and accepted the decision by Dorion and announced that he has hired Martin Ward as the team's new GM.

Ward comes to the Senators after spending the past 3 seasons with the Providence Bruins of the AHL, where he was GM of the team. He gave and interview with the media right away and announced his plans for the team. He is seen a great hire by the team, many consider him to be one of the up and coming excs in the league and believe that he may be able to turn things around in Ottawa. Sens fans everywhere are hoping to see their team restored to it's former glory.

"Right now I come in here and I look around and I see people looking and they're laughing at us, everyone, the whole f***ing league is. That's fine, I would laugh too because things have been so f***ing crazy here and every day is a new episode of the Ottawa Senators soap opera .People love drama, I love drama and I love chaos, because I love to clean up a mess. We're a mess right now, we know that, but that's ok because we can fix it. It's going to take time, a lot of it, fans sit back, calm down and be patient because this isn't an overnight fix. It's going to be 5 years before we're good at hockey again, but I promise you that once we're good again, we'll stay good for a long time, as long as I am here. Now sadly in life things get worse before they get better, we need a whole culture change here and that means we're going to be moving out players like there's now tomorrow, I've got 20 days about till the deadline and I can tell you that you're going to see 4-5 trade by then. I am an aggressive GM, I don't wait to pounce and you'll see that here. The drama stops now and I've got an idea at who the main causes are and we'll deal with that drama. Things aren't all bad here, I know we don't have a first right now but we're going to have one by the draft I promise you that. We might not get a lottery pick, but right now there's hope in Brady Tkachuck and Tomas Chabot, 2 really good young players. They're going to be here a long time and so will I, not only will I restore the Senators name but I'll bring us cups, I can promise you that."

Q and A

Reporter: Martin what will you do concerning Duchene and Stone ? Will you keep them and try to resign them ?

Martin: f*** no, are you crazy ? The Ottawa Senators will not have players on their roster who do not wish to play here. This is Ottawa, not a jail. If you want to leave, talk to me and we'll move you it's that simple.

Reporter: Martin, are you at all concerned with the atmosphere around the team ?

Martin: Good question, it's not pretty here right now, but dirt doesn't look pretty, blossoming flowers do.

Reporter: Martin you said the team will pick in the first round at the draft, how will you accomplish this ?

Martin: Well you have to put 2 and 2 together, we have pending UFA's, we can trade them and surely get a first for at least one of them. That's going to be a wrap for this press conference.

Ward dominates deadline day

Martin Ward said changes were coming, and he delivered them today as he officially begins the task of rebuilding the Ottawa Senators. With the Sens sitting at 28-27-4, Ward made 6 trades and shipped out several players. After today Ward left no doubt about the direction the team is heading in, while some fans may not like the idea of gutting the roster, given that as it stands Colorado would not have a high pick from the Sens, Ward showed that he has no time for the past. Below is a summary of all 6 trades:

The Sens haul on the day includes 8 draft picks, 3 of which are first rounders. The Sens shipped out 4 players on the roster and brought in 4 new ones. Before hearing from GM Martin Ward let us hear from our panel of experts:

" This is a massive day for the Sens, and what a way to say hello to the league if you're Martin Ward. All I can say is wow, the haul is impressive. The Sens talked about a culture change and Ward talked about the need to get something in return for his UFA's, 3 1sts is a great haul and Serron Noel is not just any prospect. He's no throw in, he's having a great season in Oshawa and will have a chance to be a top 6 guy for Ottawa going forward. They talk about needing a culture change, Reaves, Callahan and Holden are no nonsense guys who will bring some grit and leadership to a team that is sorely lacking it and a team that is surely going to be a lot younger next year. Also interesting is that the Sens took on some bad contracts for draft picks, some teams are surprised that Melnyk authorized these trades but said that their team would look to Ottawa for future cap relief if the price is right." -Paul LeBrun

" The common belief around the league is that the Sens made out well on the Duchene and Stone deals, they got above market price and had lots of interest in both players. Teams are a little surprised that the Panthers parted with Noel who's tearing up the OHL right now, some people think that Ward will push to acquire a top 3 pick at this year's draft. Ward is rumoured to be looking at Derek Giroux, a centre with Blainville in the Quebec league who's fast, smart and plays a great 2 way game, he's been compared to Jonathan Toews but is said to have more offensive upside. So keep an eye out there, but overall this is a great day for Ottawa." -Bob McKenzie

" I'm told by several sources that Ward preferred to receive draft picks for the next 2 drafts, a team source said the team covets Giroux but also mentioned that they wouldn't be opposed to Kaapo Kakko if they can somehow get him. Another source told me that the team won't rush to rebuild and get back to the playoffs, Giroux has a little brother Nicholas who was granted exceptional player status this year, he's a 15 year old defenceman with Blainville. He's only eligible in 2021, but again the same source said the team wants to be in that lottery and will look to acquire 2021 picks." -Darren Dreger

" I like the direction Ottawa is heading in, they needed some character guys, they go out and get em. They have a couple of nice pieces on the team right now in Colin White, Tomas Chabot and Brady Tkachuck and they're going to add more with their 2 upcoming firsts and don't forget they have 3 1sts next year, so that's 5 in the next 2 years. The Sens scouts have to get it right, Martin Ward is in a tough spot, word around the league is that the Sens scouting staff is amongst the worst and smallest in the league and to make matters worse the team has the lowest scouting budget in the league." -Craig Button

Yes the future in Ottawa is looking much brighter today that it was yesterday, we're about to join our colleague Ryan Rishaug who's in Ottawa right now at Martin Ward's press conference.

" I want to thank you all for coming today, as you know we made several trades today, we believe that these trades will only help us going forward as we take the first step in rebuilding this franchise. I want to thank Mark, Matt, Jean-Gabriel, Ben, Ryan and Tom for their service with the team. I want to welcome Melker, Ryan and Nick to our team. I believe that they'll will add much needed grit to our team and leadership to our locker room. We're done making moves for now, we'll see what happens between now and the draft, going forward expect the team to get younger and expect us to look for players who are fast and smart. I won't comment on our intentions with our players but all options are in play as we look to improve our team. I'd also like to take a minute to address a comment made by Craig Button on TSN.

Craig, your lack of judgement is the reason why you're a former GM, why you're on TV is beyond me. You have no clue how hard our scouts work and we believe that they are amongst the best in the league. Stick to talking about players and not my staff. That will be all for today.

Really want to get back into Franchise Mode. Huge Rangers fan here. I was curious to know what would be fair potentials and overalls for the following players: Kravtsov, Shestyorkin, K. Miller.

I have Kravtsov as elite medium, same for the goaler and Miller is medium top 4, but Miller could be elite too if you wanna be a little biased.

Starting a new franchise. What team should I choose or should I expand. I want a challenge, but not be stuck with crap.

Nvm. I chose The Buffalo Sabres. I am an Oilers fan, but thought it would be fun and challenging.

Lost to the Caps with the Oilers in the 2020-21 finals.

Went to Game 7 in all four series despite being the best team in the league by far, so that was frustrating.

Winnipeg somehow got the first and fifth overall picks in the Lafreniere draft. We’re willing to trade the first pick, so I traded them Kaapo Kakko and the 20th and a roster player.

So had

Lafreniere - McDavid - Kapanen
Yamamoto - Leon - Puljujarvi

As my top six.
