I disagree it’s huge game for both of them if they want to stay in main division.

embarassing effort by france, very disappointed in texier, in games like this he should slaughter hungary's D without any excuses. he's nowhere close to his former self from nhl, unfortunately for cbj

happy for hungary, tho.

Wow Hungary with a huge win. Congrats, these 2 points could save the team in the top division at the end of the group stage.
possibly.. considering "last place" Germany has what were actually 3 competitive losses against what are likely the three best teams, you should expect them to do better against lesser competition. France has steadily picked up points with an OTW and 2 OTLs. Hungary still has what can safely be put as regulation losses against Sweden and Finland to come. The pivotal game for them will likely end up being the last game for each team, May 22nd against Austria, who thus far has only picked up one OTL and still has what are likely to be surefire regulation losses against the United States and Finland on their plate.

Even if Austria somehow gets two more points it doesn't change anything as long as Hungary beats them. On the other hand, also for Austria it would be enough to beat Hungary if neither gets another point otherwise. If Hungary gets one or two more points, Austria will need a regulation win. France is as good as safe and I can't see Germany being left on the bottom for much longer either.

Yeah just like most would have predicted before the tournament, it's still between Austria and Hungary, these points change almost nothing.

If anything, one could argue the point was crucial to France who are now more or less safe from relegation.
