You do realize a lot of players do, 80% in the regular season, 100% in playoffs.

Nylander gives 20% in the playoffs tho. And sometimes he'll play really hard, battle, win pucks. Last season he was great. But then 80% of the other time he just lacks intensity at all. A complete non factor if not scoring. But when he is scoring or even playing well, man he is a difference maker.

Almost like a modern Kovalev.

Meh IMO The Leafs score plenty of goals to win. they need upgrades on the back end and some bottom 6 grit.....They dont need Forsberg

They don't need bottom 6 grit they need top 6 grit. Their forward core is Matthews - Marner and Tavares - Nylander. Both of those duos would benefit from a heavy forechecker.

Their defense is in diminishing returns territory. They need a difference maker or no one, and I don't think any of those are on the market. There's not really room for anything else. The top 4 is Rielly, Brodie, Muzzin, Holl. Best case scenario you can add another defenseman of Brodie's or Muzzin's calibre, and how much is that really moving the needle? The best way to improve team defense at this point is likely by improving the forwards.

If Leafs wanted anything from Nashville, I'd have to think it would be on the blue line.
They would definitely want forsberg.... Nylander may have a tad more value at this time but that could change quick

I think from the leafs perspective they would want to solidify their 2nd and 3rd lines

Forsberg would be the ideal fit for Tavares wing - and would also allow Kerfoot to stay up as a winger

and would allow Granlund to assume/take on the 3rd line centre role - which would form a very formidable 3rd line in Mikheyev, Granlund and Simmonds (when he returns)

Clearly you have not seen Granlund's "attempt" to play center in the last 3 years. If he is your number 3 center you miss the playoff.

Yes he is that bad at center now.

He had 4 points in 5 games against Columbus and coincidentally enough, the same amount of points as Forsberg (7) over their last two playoff appearances.

There is no reason for the Preds to accept this.

That would be a massive win for the Leafs.

Forsberg plays on a defensive team that he is the biggest threat on, and right now they are ice cold but he still has excellent production. Nylander is put in a position to really succeed- he plays with talented centers, on a lethal PP, on a team that plays some of the most run and gun hockey in the NHL, this helps him produce and being forced to play tight defense in Nashville his scoring would dip.

Forsberg would be the 4th biggest threat on the Toronto offense, and probably the 5th best player on the PP, he'd put up some massive career years with that talent around him and sheltering his defensive matchups.

If you could trade for unwanted Leaf players who would you trade and why is it one of your best young players?
Easy. Victor Rask for Nylander.
Cap hit 4 mio, savings 3 mil. Plays #1C, shooting % 41.7, has still a contract left for a 2nd Stanley Cup run, comes into the perfect age with, has not peaked yet.
Leafs can make a move to get Dumba at TDL.

The reason Nylander is sought after is his salary is almost half paid.
Any team with a cheap ownership would give up a ton for him

Yes , and the fact he responded well and was able to show his talent level by notching both his teams goals including the OT winner....
