I thought the Leafs were owned by the Toronto hockey media. They think they do.
Yeah, the whole big Bell/Rogers media group that owns the Raptors too bought them a while back. Teachers Pension did have a majority share before though. Per wikipedia.

Noticed that former Preds draft pick Emil Pettersson is currently the leading point scorer in the SHL (46 points in 43 games).

He last was in our system in 2018-19, when he had 33 points in 49 games in the AHL. We then traded him to Tucson, where he played for 12 games and got 5 points before leaving for Sweden.

Colin Blackwell scored his 5th goal of the season today. He'd be second on the Preds right now behind Forsberg. 3 assists on top of that, 8 points in 11 games so far skating third line minutes. It's a small sample size, but he's doubling his output with the Preds last season.

as a Rangers fan is he really this good? or flash in the pan or was he behind a lot of depth and never got a chance. remember he is 27 so I hope he aint a minor league taking advantage of a team like the Rangers, with little depth. i hope he is a late bloomer and has this consistency.

Right now nobody on the Rangers is doing what they’re supposed to, especially Lafreniere. Kreider is their only guy scoring anything.
I would guess that Blackwell is doing well on his own.

I guess if we thought he was going to be THAT good consistently, we wouldn't have just let him walk. I don't see it happening. Even though I think we were all universally impressed by his hustle and moxy in his reduced opportunity with us. But we already had that sort of happen once recently with Grimaldi, and it's hard to really say that Grimaldi is going to ultimately stick either, as much as we ended up liking him. For it to happen twice with players like that... too much of a stretch for us, I reckon.

I liked what Blackwell showed, but I don't think any Preds fan here was the least bit upset or even really took any notice whatsoever when we let him walk. If he ultimately pans out for the Rangers, I'd be really happy for him. Mildly surprised, but definitely happy. You always want to cheer for guys like that who just work their tails off and put themselves in the mix.

Yeah I think Blackwell can be a very solid third liner that could consistently put up 30 points or so for a few seasons. I doubt he is truly the 30+ goal and 60+ point guy he is pacing at this season though. Would love it for him if he actually was that because he always seemed to give it his all and played a lot bigger than his size.

Craig Smith on pace for 18g-18a in a regular length season. It’s amazing how reliable he is to put up numbers like that year after year.

Watched the Sharks-Avs game and with Makar out, Girard was the #1D for Colorado. He's a good puck-mover on the PP but in no way should he be on the top pair for a contender.

Dude just got chewed up by the Sharks. That small frame is a big problem around the net in the defensive zone.

Is the SHL a no checking league? Emil would thrive in one.

He wasn't physical at all in the AHL. Novak looked much better.

Smith and Horny are the only 2 players that I would take for the Preds. Smith is about 30 and Patric must be at least that old by now.
