Well to be fair it would be difficult for an official to diagnose that Deveaux is a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

"Deveaux will be providing surprising new video evidence of injuries that were flagrantly ignored by Swedish Hockey League officials."

He's going to reveal that he also kicked someone's ass in the parking lot.

lol, made me laugh.

But it will probably be him showing he was injured in the previous game. Like if that would make it ok.

But anyway, he should serve out his punishment and that should be the end of it.

I guess it's easier, for psychological reasons, to claim you were not yourself than to admit you were yourself.

So is the 11 month suspension and the fine the end of it? Or is he still on the hook for whatever punishment the legal system hands down(if convicted obviously)?

Watching his wife give this statement is ****ing embarassing.

And then I heard him say "Without the support of Onya and a baby on the way I'm not sure I could have gotten through this" as he makes his fake emotional facial
expression

What an *******.

If what he is saying is true the other player was threatening to hurt him again then he may have a self defense case here.

No he wouldn't, on the basis that hockey players threaten to hurt each other a dozen times a game every game.

And in any case, "self defense" would be a little more applicable in a situation where he was actively being attacked. You can't drive to a guy's house, shoot him when he's lying in bed, and then claim it was self defense because you heard the guy was planning to rob you at some point.

(OK slightly extreme example there but still)

I feel bad for the guy that he sustained a concussion that is affecting his private life. But what is his point here? That because another player didn't get a penalty in a different game, he was entitled to attack that player during warmups?

I mean, I guess this was effective in filling in some of the details around the incident. But it doesn't shift any of the blame away from him, and if anything it reinforces that he's obviously unrepentant and therefore an ongoing danger to the players around him.

Hopefully his insurance allows him to get some help.

He's 6'4 240 pounds with over 100 fights in his career and he expects us to believe he was scared of some small Swede who doesn't fight as if the guy was a threat to his life on the ice? what a load of crap

Haha he said he doesn't regret defending himself. Yeah the guy was clearly attacking him when he decided to slash him. God this guy just doesn't get it. He should be permanently suspended due to the lack of regret.
