With preseason games starting, time to keep an eye on former Habs. May well be more exciting than watching Habs current edition.

A few notable playing elsewhere:

Galchenyuk
Pacioretty
Radulov
Eller
Subban
Sergachev
McDonagh

KHL:
Markov, Desharnais, Emelin & Kostitsyn bros

Good luck to everyone, don't hurt us too much.

[edit]List is not meant to be exhaustive.

God Damn, how long into this rebuild, retool/not a rebuild phase before we get to see players of the calibre that we have thrown away?

God damn it hurts

While players come and go, to lose all of that talent and have basically nothing to show for it aside from draft picks... Inexcusable. Terrible asset management.

Jim Nill said of the Seguin deal, "you don't buy talent like this at Walmart prices" he also went on to include Benn and Radulov and Klingberg in the same interview.

There are more for sure (DSP, Andrighetto...). Kept the more notable. Maybe add Halak,

Depends how one defines notable.

I mean, take someone like Weise. He wasn't a top flight player but he was sure memorable.

The moderators have closed this thread in previous years.

Was it because of eternal Subban vs Weber comparison? Hope people are past the anger stage of grieving. Seems like most have moved to the depression stage. ;)

Feel free to name more players. Like I said, the list is not meant to be exhaustive.

BTW. Markov 1g 2a in 6 KHL games.

Desharnais with 29 penalty minutes in 6 games? Who did he try to goon?

This, by far, is the most impressive image juxtaposition I have ever seen. And it goes beyond just the images.

I believe this is the poster who came up with it -- he added the following comment to the pic:

He's not just a Hab, he's almost a Habsburg.

Just google the Habsburgs and you'll see how they were a thing.
