Lets say Babcock leaves... wherever...

Why is no one mentioning the new coach for Detroit?
I really have no idea who Detroit would go after.

Dan Byslma? I cant see that working out well. Maybe I am wrong
Torts? Nah...
Berube... no way

Hitchcock maybe...

Probably because everyone assumes Blashill will get the job.

Blashill.

If they get Babcock signed, though, I bet Blashill starts looking outside the org for an NHL gig. Would definitely give him strong consideration for Buffalo.

Blashill. If Detroit re-signs Babcock, then id imagine Blashill leaves Grand Rapids for another NHL team. If Babcock leaves Detroit, then Id imagine Blashill gets promoted.

I agree with this. If Babcock does get a contract renewal I can't see how the Wings could stand in the way of Blashill's chance at a promotion somewhere.

Eakins *Runs away giggling like a little school girl.*

Wouldn't shock me if Eakins went to another team and did well.

Not sure why he gets such hate for what has been an 8 year long dumpster fire which he oversaw for not even a year and a half.

I am sure if he had defensive competent players he could have done much better.

Paul Maclean is an interesting suggestion. From the Babcock coaching tree and already has a relationship with some of the Red Wing players. I can only assume that he's learned from some of the mistakes he made in Ottawa and Detroit probably doesn't have a players' GM. Could be a really good fit.

I would be surprised but I wouldn't say it's impossible... and why all the hate? I'm paranoid of the loser cooties it may have caught in Edmonton.
