I think the Phantoms will improve once they move to Allentown. The team has consistently stayed away from paying big money, for that league anyway, on veteran AHL all-stars like Hershey does and some of the other teams do, especially at the forward position. It seems that management has decided to spend no money on he team while it is in Adirondack. I hope that changes in Allentown.

I am posting a few links to a couple of articles Bill Metlzer wrote about AHL development. I think there are a few posters that believe having a great AHL has some barring on the NHL team. But according to the articles, the only skaters that the AHL develops are 3rd/4th line forwards and 3rd pair defensemen. Any forwards and defensemen better than that often leave the AHL in a year or less time. There is a benefit for goalies though.
