Continued rumors of two teams talking with leafs interested in Ghost and Flyers interested in Kapanen and lesser extent Nylander.

Total speculation talk but what does everything think of this

We need to find a defenseman somewhere else to fill a hole in our top 6

Do ask for Gardiner thrown in for a pick and see what his asking price is?

Kapanen for Ghost is abysmal. Nylander for Ghost is meh at best.

Not adding a pick for someone the Leafs cant sign and is guaranteed to hit UFA. Definitely not paying UFA prices for a LHD when were already deep there.

Setting aside value for the moment, defense is where we are weakest and wing is where we are strongest. We would be paying from weakness to add to a strength.

Nylander would fill a 2C hole, but then we also get into Ghost's value on the backend and his contract and I just don't see it being a deal either team wants to make.

ghost on that contract is too good to get rid of. Never get rid of that contract. We just have to hope he picks it back up and can regain his form on the PP.
